Daren’s P.O.V.
I felt so bad. Why did I have to be the “traitor”? Why couldn’t they have made someone else do it? They all knew how close I was to Kelsa, and yet, they still made me do this to her. I wonder what she’s thinking. Probably what a jerk I am. She won’t ever be able to trust me again. But then again, she would never know that I liked her or maybe I even loved her. I don’t know. Geesh if anyone did know they’d be considered a genius.
I walked back and forth, pacing. There was nothing else to do. I hurt the girl I think I may very well be in love with and she probably thought I was out to kill her. But she’s wrong. I want so badly to tell her. Tell her that it was all just a lie. Tell her that I wasn’t really out to hurt her. I was actually trying to protect her from harm. But why would she believe me? How could she believe me?
My stomach growled and I decided that I should probably go and get something to eat before someone punches me in the face and/or Kelsa wakes up. I’m so glad that I’ll be able to tell her soon that I wasn’t really out to get her. I know she won’t believe me but at least she’ll know that I told her. We still had about an hour before Kelsa woke up and 2 before the planned attack was supposed to begin.
As I was about to walk out, a guard stopped me and said in a deep, gruff voice, “Name and reason for departing, please.”
“Daren Karzom, departing for food, sir,” I replied back.
“You’re told to be back here in exactly 60 minutes,” he yelled as I rushed out.
I was trying to find a good place to eat but I just couldn’t find any. Well any that were quick and good at least. I finally decided on um Cheeseburger Paradise I believe was the name. I had just the normal cheeseburger and fries. It was pretty nasty, but 30 minutes later I was finished and headed back to the location where we were keeping Kelsa. I’d arrived just in time apparently.
“Mr. Karzom! Not a second too early. Very well planned,” the guard that was previously at the entrance said.
“Thank you, Sir,” I replied non-graciously.
And he was right. I was just on time. Kelsa had supposedly just woken up. And our plan was set to take place in oh about 90 seconds. I went to where Miss Faine was being held captive and stood outside the door.
The plan was to, once the alarm sounded, quickly run into her room, grab her, run out the nearest exit, grab the car to which I had the keys, and drive Kelsa to a much safer domain where she wouldn’t be at such high risk of being taken or tracked again.
Suddenly a shrilling noise went through my ears. It was the alarm of course. How could I have totally forgotten in the past like what 20 seconds? Anyways I burst into the room and found Kelsa still asleep. So I hauled her over my shoulder and took off, running until I got her in the car and safely sped away. Then it happened. That’s the exact moment the hand came through the car and tried to grab her. It wasn’t a human hand I could tell that much. It was more of a slimy, fish hand. The object was more webbed than fingered. I was so freaking scared. People think I’m fearless just because of what I do. Ha-ha! Joke’s on them! They have no idea how scared I get in these situations. But if they did know then they could use that against me so I just blocked the frightened thoughts out and tried my best to keep the hand from getting her.
Kelsa’s P.O.V
I woke up and I knew right away that I was moving. Then I see a hand. Wait. It’s a hand right. I mean it looks kind of like a hand, but then there are some features that make it seem like it’s not a hand. Maybe I should just pretend like I’m asleep again. Yeah I’ll do that.
