Mel's POV

The dreams have been getting worse. To top that, I can barely make it through classes without wanting to pass out.

I've been good at covering it. Once in a while, I'll get a look from Jasmine or Lily but they haven't spoken up so far.

I wanted to sneak upstairs to sleep some of my tiredness off, but Remus caught me in the hall.

"Hey Mel, wanna go down to the lake with me?" Remus asked.

"Yeah, sure. But no promises. I might fall asleep on your shoulder again." I joked.

"I'm okay with that." Remus grinned, offering his arm to me.

I laughed and  took his arm and we walked to the lake together. On the way there, I couldn't help but notice some Hufflepuff girls in our year pointing at us and giggling.

I frowned in confusion. What was that all about? I shook it off and kept walking.

When we were sat by the tree, Remus pulled out the book and I laid my head on his shoulder like last time.

He chuckled and turned a little to see me. "Would you like me to read to you?" He offered.

I nodded and closed my eyes. I had most of that book memorized. I mouthed some of the lines as he read softly.

That lasted for about 2 minutes before we heard shouting. "Remus Lupin!"

I opened my eyes and lifted my head to see James, Sirius, and Peter running towards us.

James glanced us over and raised an eyebrow. "Are we interrupting something? I didn't know you two were dating."

Remus turned red. "We're not dating. Just reading."

I didn't respond, closed my eyes again, and leaned back against the tree.

"Yeah okay." I heard James say. "Anyways, we wanted to ask, If we were to ever prank this person who annoyed us greatly, what should we go with?"

"Leave Sev alone." I muttered, my eyes still closed.

"I never said it was Snivellus." James defend himself.

"Is it?"

"Possibly." James mumbled.

"Leave him alone." I commanded, done with this conversation.

"If you were to prank someone who wasn't Snivell-Severus, I'd inform you not to grab some Dungbombs from my trunk and set them off where this someone may be." Remus said casually.

I opened my eyes and smacked him on the arm. "Remus!"

"What? I said not to!" He defended.

I scowled at the smiling boys. "Thanks for not helping us with this Remus!" James grinned before running off.

I frowned at Remus. "Was that really necessary?" He gave me a chuckle. "Not really, but I did say for them not to."

"Knowing full well that they would." I muttered bitterly.

He poked my side. "Come on Mel, you can't be upset with me."
