Mel's POV

I believe that there's a whole world just waiting to be discovered.

Well.... Maybe not waiting. But it's there and nobody's has seen all of it yet.

I woke up this morning with absolute determination until I realized that I had classes to attend and homework that I would be assigned.

Yeah, that kind of put a damper on my good mood.

But it didn't stop my excitement for the day.

I bounced out of my seat as soon as we were dismissed and ran and put my things away.

Jasmine already said that she would be joining me for today's adventure. West didn't confirm that he was going until Jasmine did.

Coincidence? I think not.

I quickly redid the side braid in my hair that I was wearing. Sometimes, a few strands would start to poke out after I wore it for a while.

I pushed my glasses up a little more and looked around for Jasmine.

She was trailing behind one of the girls in our dorm. Bailey was her name, I think.

I bounced impatiently on my feet until she noticed me. "I'm coming. Let me just set my bag down Mel." She giggled.

I huffed and crossed my arms. I swear, it's like everyone took a slowpoke potion today or something.

"Alright, I'm ready. Let's go." Jasmine smiled.

I don't think that she was quite prepared for me to yanked on her arm and drag her downstairs but that's what happened.

"There you two are!" West exclaimed. "You've been up there for ages. I was starting to wonder if we were still going!"

"That's what I was thinking." I muttered, giving a pointed look at Jasmine who smiled back sheepishly.

"Ready to explore?" I grinned, my excitement bubbling up again.

"Duh!" Jasmine laughed.

"Let's go!" West announced.

We all ran down out into the Quad before I stopped running. "Wait. Where are we even going?"

West shrugged. "I thought that you had a place in mind. I was just following."

Jasmine scoffed at us. "You two didn't even plan out anything? Then what are we doing?"

I thought about where to go for a second. "Oh! I know! Let's go to The Dark Tower."

Jasmine scrunched up her nose. "No way! That place is spooky."

West rolled his eyes. "It is not that bad. Just a little dark."

"How about the Shrieking Shack?" I offered.

The Shrieking Shack earned its name and rumors about it sometime last year. No one has ever denied anything and Dumbledore has even tried to encourage the silly rumors.
