The loud ringing of the bell signalling the start of Class A’s free period resounded around the classroom jolting Aeron from her reverie. She had spent the entirety of the History class thinking about the plan Gabriel mentioned the night before.
As soon as the teacher left the room, Nathan had pulled out a sleek, black laptop from his bag and had already turned it on.
Christian turned to Aeron with a serious expression. “While we were having dinner last night, I noticed something peculiar going on between Nicholas and his Guardian.”
Aeron set her pen over her bottom lip in thought, trying to recall anything suspicious about the silent girl that sat in front of her. “I’m afraid I’m not sure what you’re talking about.” She stated. “I may have known Nicholas for a long time, but I’ve never heard her speak once.”
“Exactly,” Christian noted, “I believe that they may be in a relationship.”
“No,” Nathan interrupted, “they are in a relationship.”
He spun his laptop around, showing the group a video of Nicholas arguing with his Guardian.
Nathan paused the video. “This was taken last night in Nicholas’ room. Here, their arguing about the Nicholas’ engagement to Aeron.”
Christian gave his brother an irritated look. “You put a camera in his house?!”
Nathan merely shrugged typing away on his laptop. “It was Carter’s idea. Besides, we got you the confirmation you needed, didn’t we?”
Aeron ignored his question, instead landing hard blows over the back of the pair’s heads. “Idiots!” she exclaimed, “do you know what would happen if they had caught you? We could be sued for this!”
Carter rubbed the back of his head. “Nathan and I can be sued for this,” he corrected, “there’s nothing that can prove that you were involved in planting the hidden cameras. And I already disposed of the evidence this morning.”
Carter gave Aeron a wide smile. “We also did a background check on them. The Guardian’s name is Kayla Anderson, she was orphaned at the age of sixteen and currently she has taken over her deceased parents’ trading business.”
Nathan continued for Carter, reading whatever was written on the monitor. “Apparently Nicholas and Kayla have been in a relationship for a while now, however, Kayla is quite insecure and had thought that Nicky had been cheating. It didn’t help that Nicky never told his parents about them.”
Gabriel quirked an eyebrow. “Both of you really dug deep, didn’t you?”
Nathan scoffed, “Of course, anything to help Aery.”
Aeron slammed her hand down over the table, eyes flaring. “So you’re saying that I’m getting married to that moron just because of some stupid argument?!”
Carter shrugged before taking a bite of the potato chip he had produced from his bag. “Yup, pretty much.”
Aeron huffed before letting out a deep breath, “Why are you guys helping me anyways?”
“This seems like fun since the principal hasn’t assigned any tasks for us in a week.” Carter replied with a sly grin.
Being part of the Class A they were looked up to by everyone. Because of this, the principal gave them special tasks to do, such as organizing dances and substituting sick teachers. This was also to eradicate all suspicion of the Class A since rumours have spread about them.
Aeron rolled her eyes, grabbing her pen. Fun, huh?
Christian cleared his throat before speaking, “So here’s the plan, Aeron I need you to attend a party at Nicholas’ house tonight, apparently his parents have succeeded in expanding to Europe.” Aeron nodded remembering the invitation sent to her a week before, and how she completely disregarded it. “Aiden and I will take care of the rest.” Christian continued. “Nathan will fill you up with everything else later.”
