Title: Key and Lock
Scene 44: Outside/ Practice
Michael knows Maria has practice and decides to show. He sits on some cement block outside the office where he spotted her backpack. They all practice and the captain of the team sees him watching.
Captain: Excuse me this is a private practice.
Everyone stops and turns Maria's eyes widen and her cheeks turn red.
Maria: Shit.
Ale: What the fuck is he doing here?
Maria: I don't know.
Maria walks over to him and he smiles. All the girls tease her and she rolls her eyes. He hops of the block and towers a bit over her.
Maria: You need to go.
Michael: Why? It is in a public area.
Maria: Michael please.
He crosses his arms over his chest and his eyebrows raises. He looks over at the group of girls. He sighs and shrugs.
Michael: I'll only leave if.
Maria:(impatient) If what?
Michael: You cuff me with this.
He digs a thick silver bracelet out of his sweater and hands it to her. She looks at him her eyebrows raised.
Michael: I'm not gonna leave if you done put it on.
Maria groans and takes the bracelet snapping the little lock so it adjusts to his pale wrist.
Maria: Happy?
Michael: Now take this.
He fetches a key that holds on to a chain. He pushes it towards her. She doesn't move as she looks at it. He rolls his eyes and grabs her palm placing it and closing her hand.
Michael: Now I'll leave.
He walks away and she stands there she shakes her head and places it in her bag. She returns back her spot. All the girls tease her even the ones she doesn't even actually talk to only having small one time conversations.
Scene 45: Inside/ Steph and Maria's Room
Maria sits lays in her bed and lazily rolls over her iPod playing music as she let out a deep breath. Her phone vibrates and her head peaks over at it. She grabs it and opens the text.
Movie night?
She quickly replied.
Think you have the wrong number
It buzzes and her eyes widen.
Not I'm sure this is the number I did give you a key after all
Her thumbs race across the keyboard.
How the hell did you get my number?
She waits and the message shows up on the screen.
Doesn't matter I have it so yes or no
She lets out a deep breath and falls back into her bed. She ignores the text and locks her phone setting it off to the side. A couple minutes go by and there's a knock on her window.
Maria: What the fuck?
She gets off the bed and sees his silhouette. She moves the curtains and opens the window.
Maria: Are you stalking me now?
Michael: No I just got that movie you like and thought you'd want to watch it.
He shows her the case and she looks at him strangely.
Maria: You realize you're freaking me out.
Michael:(throws hands up) What? How?
Maria: The whole practice scandal. The key. Having my number without asking for it. Showing up at my house.
Michael: (sighs) I saw the bracelet and liked it but it was a matching set and I thought I can't give it to my mom she doesn't even wear jewelry not even those macaroni necklaces I made her in first grade. So I thought of you. The whole phone this I actually sent myself a message from your phone while you didn't notice my existence. Me being here well I know where you live by memory and this is actually Ashtons movie but he let me borrow it cuz his younger brother and sister are having a movie day and his mom would be pissed if she say this.
Maria looks at him before sighing and getting off the bed. She walks to open him the door.
Scene 46: Inside/ Living Room/ Steph and Maria's House
Michael walks in and looks around. She closes the door behind him and makes sure to shut the curtains.
Michael: Is there anyone else here?
Maria: No my brother and Steph are at ortho appointment while my parents are working.
Michael: You stayed here because?
Maria: I didn't feel like waking up early.
Michael: Reasonable. So you wanna watch the movie?
Maria: Hoping it's not awkward considering you're a teenage boy who will get horny at the first sound of tits.
Michael: There goes my boner.
Maria rolls her eyes and turns on the tv with the DVD player. She puts in the disc and walks into her room. Moments later she walks out with her favorite blanket. She grabs the control pressing play.

Michael:(zoned out) that was some crazy as shit.
Maria:(laughing) Oh really?
Michael: I'm hungry.
Maria:(rolls eyes over dramatically) When are you not?
Michael laughs and shoves her playfully. They sit there in awkward silence. Michael clears his throat making Maria turn to him.
Michael:(uneasy) So uh Valentine's Day coming up.
Maria nods and shrugs.
Maria: Not such an important holiday to be honest.
Michael:(caught off guard) What?!
Maria:(nods) If I spent like 17 years without a single date on Valentine's Day I could survive my life without one.
Michael: But every girl loves Valentine's Day?
Maria: Free roses and chocolates I mean who wouldn't? It's just that it's a waste of money.
Michael:(curious) So is it only you or all of your squad that's hasn't ever had a single Valentine?
Maria: All. I think David would really appreciate a candy gram though.
Michael:(rolls eyes and laughs shaking his head) That boy would die for Calum.
Scene 47: Inside/ Luke's House/ Luke's Room
Calum:(concentrated) Are you sure?
Luke:(rolls eyes) I'm sure it's a for sure thing.
Ashton:( smiling widely) I like it.
All the boys look within gone another and then nods as they process everything. Michael has a devious smile standing by the whiteboard he hesitated to move.
Luke: It's time to get this shit started.
