A song that makes me sad: The Moment I Knew
About it: When I first heard the song, it gave me goosebumps because I could imagine what was happening, like I was standing right there where Taylor was taking in the scene. It was so powerful that it left such a strong impression on me and I would be thinking about it everytime I went to sleep. I'm not exactly sure what it's like to be having your 21st and the person who means the most to you doesn't show up. I apologise if this isn't all that detailed but I will try my best.
Trigger Words:
You should've been there
You should've burst through the door with that
'Baby I'm right here' smile
And it would've felt like
A million little shining stars had just aligned
And I would've so happy
I've got my eye on the door
Just waiting for you to walk in
But the time's ticking
How you said you'd be here
And it was like slow motion
Standing there in my party dress
In red lipstick
With no-one to impress
And they're all laughing
But there was one thing missing
And that was the moment I knew
The hours pass by
But your close friends always seem to know
When something's really wrong
And there in the bathroom I try not to fall apart
And the sinking feeling starts
And asking me about you
What do you say when tears are streaming down your face in front of everyone you know?
And what do you do when the one who means the most to you is one who didn't show?
You called me later and said,
"I'm sorry I didn't make it" and I said,
"I'm sorry too"
And that was the moment I knew
Story:
This is it! My 21st birthday. I've been planning this for like 5 weeks now and I'm really excited. I've invited everybody I know and they're all coming, as far as I know.
Flashback
"Hazel? I have this thing, um...it's a meeting next week and...it was kinda...scheduled on...um...your 21st birthday. I tried telling them that I couldn't come because it was my girlfriend's birthday -- you know me, I'd come no matter what -- but they just said that if I didn't come they would fire me from my job. I just wanna tell you that I might be a bit late, maybe half an hour at most."
