A bunch of flowers was in a vase
He touched one, and stood amazed
" I am a rose and you're an orchid,
You got all the time I direly need.
I'll wilt and dry with the heat
My stem will go limp and weak.
Too soon, my petals will wither
I'll expire, sooner or later."
I stood at the side and wept,
My emotions I can no longer keep.
"Darling, I am an orchid maybe,
But I'd be a rose to thee
I'd wither with you my dear
I'll be with you, don't fear.
My time I'll give it all up,
I'll let all my petals drop."
He just heaved a sigh,
And stared at the sky.
"Don't be a fool; you're not a rose
Your lovely petals you can't lose.
Time's too precious; don't waste it away,
If only I had enough; I'd stay.
Fate is unfair, but let it be
Stay an orchid; live for me."
A/N:
I observed that roses wither too soon. Just a few days or so, but orchids, they last for even a month. I got inspired so I wrote this piece. Thank you for reading :)
