Today was the day we'd meet our little sister and my dad's wife. I was nervous to meet his wife but oh so happy to meet my little sister, Lacey. Call me a dork but I loved the fact that our names rhyme.

When my dad called Christine, his wife, lastnight, he told her about us so they decided to stay in a hotel down the street. We all agreed to meet for breakfast in the morning before the big move.

Everyone was up and ready to start the day but of course Jenny was being a spoiled brat.

Me: Come on Jenny. We have to get going within the next five minutes. Christine and Lacey are waiting on us.

Opening the door in anger, Jenny gave me an evil stare like she was ready to kill me or something.

Jenny: Listen. I don't care about this guy or his wife and daughter.

Me: This guy is our dad and that daughter of his is our sister. You need to give them a chance.

Jenny: Alright I'm only going to tell you this once freak. No matter what you try to tell me, I'm not listening to you. Also I'd appreciate if you would stop trying to get Matt to do all your dirty work. Soon enough I'm going to convince him and John to leave this dump. You belong here with these losers if you actually think he gives a heck about us. Now go. I'll be out when I'm ready.

Before I could respond, Jenny had slammed the door in my face. Why was she acting so cruel to me? I wanted to cry so bad but I didn't want anyone seeing me like this so I sucked it up the best I could. It just hurt to know my little sister didn't look up to me anymore. She didn't even respect me anymore.

Dad: Is everybody ready?

Jenny: Not really but whatever we can leave now. I just want to get this done and over with.

Dad: Alright? Lets go then.

We pulled up to a little fancy looking cafe. The inside was so classy and everyone was well dressed. Me, Jenny, Matt, and John didn't really look like we belonged. I was worried if my dad even had the money to cover all of us on dinner.

We walked up to our own little private booth where my dad's wife and our sister were seated waiting on us. Christine had beautiful long dark brown hair and blue eyes while Lacey had light brown her and blue eyes. She looked more like my dad in the face but definitely had her mom's eyes and hair.

Lacey: Are these guys my new big brothers and sisters?

Jenny: Sorry to break it to you but you and I have no relation what so ever. I don't ever want to hear you call me your sister again. Got it?

Everyone stared at Jenny in shock. Even I couldn't believe she had just said that to an almost 6 year old. This was already way too awkward.

Matt poked Jenny on her side to let her know she was being rude. Meanwhile that was Jenny's attention she apologized for being rude because Matt told her to have respect.

Christine: Jenny. I know this may be hard on you but Lacey is 6 years old. She takes it to heart more at this age.

Jenny: I said I was sorry. Damn.

Dad: Please watch your language. We don't need Lacey going to school cussing.

Jenny: Whatever I'm sorry. Can we just order our food already?

Christine: Oh don't worry about that. I've already ordered everyone salads.

Jenny: Salad? That won't work for me. I don't eat things that come out of the ground.

Dad: Honey. It's good for you.

Matt already knew Jenny was going to say something smart so he jabbed her in her sides again to stop her from making a rude remark.

Our salads had arrived and we were eating and talking away. Lacey was so happy to have new siblings. I don't even think she remembered what Jenny had said to her.

Christine was being nice and trying to get to know all of us but I couldn't help it. I had this weird feeling about Christine. I tried not to think about it to much because I knew it could just be because this was the woman who ran off with my dad. So I kept a smile on my face and tried to shake the feeling and give this woman a chance.

Me: So what do you do for a living, Chrisine?

Christine: I run my own magazine company. The money is fantastic.

Soon after everyone finished up with breakfast we headed out of the restaraunt and to the apartment to help dad finish putting the rest of the boxes onto the truck.

We all walked into the new house. It looked big on the outside but once you walked in it was even bigger. Mostly all of the furniture was already moved in. Just a couple more things had to be added.

The kitchen was huge as was the living room and dining room which were nicely put together. Theres four bedrooms all together and2 baths.  The head bedroom which was the biggest is where my dad and Christine would be staying. Then comes Laceys room which is also yay big for a 6 year old. There was only suppose to be one guest room and an office but my dad decided it would be best to have the office once we went back home when summer ended. He didn't like the idea of boys and girls in the same bedroom so Jenny and I would share a room and Matt and John would share another.

After everything was finally packed and we were settled in, we all sat down and watched a movie while we ate pop corn. Not even 5 minutes into the movie, Christine decided she was going to head up to bed.

I stayed up a bit longer then everyone elese and watched some tv because I was just too happy to sleep.

When I finally walked upstairs to my room, I noticed Christine walking towards the bathroom. I thought it was weird she would be using the bathroom in the hallway when her and my dad have their own bathroom.

Christine noticed me and she really didn't look too happy to see me up. The look she gave me just felt so cold and I knew this wasn't going to be good.

Christine: Okay so I plan on having a little talk with you and your siblings in the morning once my husband leaves for work. I know why you guys are really here and it's not because you want to have a relationship with your dad after all these years. I know your only here for our money and I'm going to let you know now, your not getting a single penny off of us so watch your back.

Me: Excuse me? I don't want his money. You have it all twisted and I don't appreciate being accused of something like that.

Christine: I wasn't born yesterday. Like I said I'd rather have this talk with you all in the morning. I'm going to bed. But don't worry you wont be here for long.
