-"I've got a date"- she thought.
Corrina was standing in front of a big mirror, in her cosy, green room. She was still wearing her pink pyjamas and wondering what to wear to a meeting with Bob, when her phone rang. She looked at her big, fluffy maine coon.
-Who could that be?- she said surprised. The cat wrinkled its nose and meowed.
-Yes?- she answered the phone.
-Hi! Um, Corrina? Is that you?- she heard a familiar voice.
-Bob?
-Yeah, it's me- he said, relived to hear her.
-Is everything all right?- she asked, worried.
-Yeah, yeah! Everything's perfect! I was just wondering...
-Yes?- she tried to give him courage.
-Would you be very mad if I came to pick you up a bit earlier?- he said quickly.- I-I just can't w-wait to see you- he stuttered.
Her face brightened and she giggled.
-Of course I won't be mad!- she exclaimed. He sighed in relief and smiled.
-So, when do you wanna come?- she asked, curious.
-Would it be all right if I was there in an hour?- he asked shyly.
-"In an hour?!"- she thought. -"And what, I'm supposed to welcome you all messed up and in my pyjamas?!"
-It'll be fine- she replied.
-Great! See you then- he hung up.
She turned around.
-Great! I've got a date earlier than I thought and I haven't even brush my hair- she said, looking at her cat. -And you're not helping me Mrs. Austen!- the cat just narrowed her green eyes and started to purr.
-Ugh!- she walked to her wardrobe and opened its door. She scanned her clothes for a while and then started to throw all kinds of dresses and skirts on her bed.
NEARLY AN HOUR LATER
She looked at her reflection in the mirror and nodded. She was wearing a dark green, rather short skirted, long sleeved dress, that matched her eyes and a pair of simple, black high heels. She put on a bit of make up just to brighten her face and her favourite necklace with a cross, on which there were carved small roses. She got it from her mother. She passed away a few years earlier and it reminded Corrina of her. She decided to let her curly hair flow down. She heard a light knock on her door and gulped.
-"Okay"- she thought. -"Now calm down and be yourself. It's gonna be all right."
-I'm coming!- she shouted and looked in the mirror for the last time. -You can do it!- she said to give herself courage.
She ran to the door and slung it open.
There he was. Dressed in an old, oversized, black suit, white shirt and black boots. He even tried to comb his hair and keep it in one place with some grease, but failed miserably.
Her heart melted at the sight of him and she giggled.
He, on the other hand, was spellbound. The sight of her was breathtaking. He was staring at her with his mouth slung open.
-"Say something!"- he screamed mentally. -"Come on! She's not going to bite you, is she?"
-Y-you loo-look stunning- he stuttered, gulping.
-Thank you- she replied, blushing furiously.- Come in, please.
She led him to a living room and put on a record by The Everly Brothers. Bob looked at her and smiled. He loved them, although he'd never mention that around his ''folk adoring'' friends.
