It's 4 o'clock and the doorbell rings and it's Riley. She's wearing a jumpsuit and I'm in the corner like "sweats for life". She seemed fascinated by the many family photos we have on the wall which is good I guess because I look amazing in every one. I showed her my medals and trophies and then I took her to the den but she didn't seem interested in watching a movie so I asked her what she wanted to do and she had no idea. So we decided to order pizza. Upon waiting we talked about... well... everything. She told me what it was like to live in Brooklyn. About her friends there, her school, her old house and I told her about her new school, what to expect, the teachers, the sports teams and all the good stuff. It turned out that she was going to be in my class which caught me by surprise but at the same time didn't. The pizza came a bit late but it was worth the wait. We had ordered half vegetable half tropical. Around eleven she left and I cleaned up and went to my room. As I was getting into my pajamas I heard someone arguing. As I looked out my bedroom window I saw two shadowy figures in what appeared to be Riley's room. Her windows were closed and so were her curtains but the lights were on so I could see the shadows. Someone's arm which I thought to be Riley's, was moving around dramatically and the other person who looked probably like her dad was pointing at her and saying something. Then he gestured to where my house was located and then I heard Riley scream out "Leave me alone. Why can't I do something I want to do for just once in my life?". Then I heard a door slam and the lights in her room turned off. I kept staring at her house. It seemed eerily silent. Then I heard someone call my name. When I looked down it was Riley. How she got in my yard? I will never know but there she was standing in my yard still wearing her jumpsuit while I'm wearing rainbow pajamas. Oh well!!!

Liv- "Yea"

Riley- "Can I come inside?"

Liv- "Yea but you can't come through the doors cause my parents are asleep and if you set off the alarm they might accidentally shoot you in the face"

Riley- "Okay. Imma come through that same window"

Liv- "How?"

Riley- "Watch me!!"

Before I knew it she was in my room. How she got in? Lord knows. I gestured to her to take a seat and she sat in a corner next to my desktop and I sat beside her and we began to talk.

Liv- "What happened just know?"

Riley- "My dad was pissed at me for coming here"

Liv- "Why?"

Riley- "I don't know. He said something like, we can't trust people in this neighborhood and some crap like that"

Liv- "Why would he say that?"

Riley- "I guess he thinks what happened to us in our old neighborhood would happen here".

I was about to ask her what happened in their old neighborhood but I stopped myself when I saw her crying. I got up and got her a tissue. I figured she didn't want to talk about it. I got the message loud and clear. I gave her a side hug because the way I was sitting made it pretty difficult to give a normal warm hug which I guess she needed.

Liv- "Don't worry about it. I'm always here and we're still going to be friends no matter what"

Riley- "Really?!?"

Liv- "Yes, I got a lot planned for your first day at Ridgemond High"

Riley- *wiping her eyes* "Like what?"

Liv- "I can't tell you. It's a surprise"

Riley- "I've only known you for a day and I've already scaled your fence and jumped through your window"

Liv- " Yea. This is a start of a beautiful and widely interesting friendship"

That was the line that changed my life. I wont say I regretted it but I wont say that I thought it through. Yes she was new to this community and everything but she just seemed to fit in rather perfectly.
