Her first day at Ridgemond High
I might not have mentioned it earlier but at school I was somewhat well known. It really baffled me how many people knew my name and stuff about me and I didn't know or ever talked to them. Anyways, our school was divided into different groups/gangs/cliques. There were the Gothic kids who basically roamed the halls with all things darkness and just made you feel sad for human existence, then there are the brainiacs. They basically read everything they can. They even manage to read the signs on the toilet door and there aren't any words on it which both amazes and freaks me out. The drama kids are the most annoying because every time you talk to them they are taking lines out of a movie or play to reply to you and it gets everyone mad. The stoners, who sometimes don't even go to school. They would rather stay in their van and smoke all day long. The band kids who basically go everywhere with their instruments. Even to the god damn bathroom. The jocks, who think their too cool enough to hang around other kids so they just play football all day to avoid contact with "normal" people. There are the cheerleaders, who by now everyone would know spreads cheer, gossip about everything, buy loads pf make up, marry miniskirts and pompoms and steal pretty much ever girl's boyfriend. Well OUR cheerleaders, let's just say are wanna be's. They dream of being that popular and attractive but are still waiting for who knows what, maybe good looks to come and slap them in the face with all its strength. So that's basically Ridgemond. Except for one teeny tiny thing. There is one more clique in Ridgemond. They are known as the "Talents". They are said to comprise of the most talented and highly favored students in the entire school. To be in that group you have to be undeniably the best at what you do and like all cliques there is a leader. One who decides what the group should do, who should join and all the important stuff and for the Talents to choose me as their unquestioned leader, it was a complete honor. So I, being the leader, decided to choose Riley as the new member of the Talents. But there was a tiny little problem, she didn't for say have a unique talents but then again I have only know her for a week. But as it turns out she could dance, sing, act, she was into sports, she was a cheerleader in her old school, which kinda explained how she got into my room that night, she knew a lot about the game cards that the goths play with, she had made friends with the stoners and like all of this happened before lunch. I mean how did she meet so many people in such a short time and already befriended them. Then I realized when we met. it happened in a matter of seconds and before I knew it we were close friends. I guess you can also tick that off as one of her talents. She was just full of everything.
Well, it has been three days now, almost the end of the week and to be honest it has been so freaking weird. She not only befriended everybody, she befriended the teachers, principal and even parents. I mean, I feel so left out in a way. I know I'm not hated but I feel like all the attention is drifting away from me and moving towards her. At the lunch table we sat beside each other and had a regular heart-to-heart conversation. She seemed normal just like the first time we met so I didn't see why everyone was so fascinated with her. As the weeks went by I felt myself become more and more jealous. She became more and more popular and I don't know why and as we walked home together, the amount of people that stopped to say hi or wave to her had me bewildered. She had only been in the neighborhood for a few weeks and she was already known by probably the entire America. How could a person who was having such a bad home life become, well...a celebrity? It made absolutely no sense but it was happening.
