Leila's POV

'Lei,' Luke whispered into my head.

I looked over at him with confusion. He was literally sitting across from me.

'Yeah?'

'I think we'll attack tomorrow,' Luke informed, his eyes going his Alpha red. He's serious.

I tried not to make my heart beat quickening noticeable, 'Okay.. when?'

Luke rolled his eyes, 'I'm thinking sunset. Things quiet down around here at that time. Won't be a lot of witnesses.'

Now I couldn't help rolling my eyes, 'There wouldn't be witnesses at any time, Luke. We're out in the fucking middle of the woods. Unless some people decided to pass the 'Private Property' sign and come camping out here, I don't think we'll have a problem.'

'Right... well, tell Jo the plan.'

'What?' I scoffed, 'Why me?'

Luke cleared his throat, 'She takes news and plans better from you. I guess it's a twin thing.'

I muttered under my breath but knew I'd have to be the one to do it. Considering what happened a few days ago with Harry, I'm sure I should be the one to do it.

I lifted Mikey's legs and stood up before placing them back. He was sleeping. I thought the perimeter checks we had been doing were tiring, these are even worse. I'm gonna keep letting him sleep. Everyone needs to; we need all the energy we can get.

'Jo, can we talk?' I asked, standing outside her bedroom door.

'Yeah, come in,' She replied.

I opened the door and she sat on her bed, reading some book and taking notes.

Quietly, I walked over and sat down on her bed.

"It's great you're spending your last night normally," I stated with a small laugh.

She snapped her head up and all emotions etched into her face, creating something I've only ever seen once before in my life and that was when our parents were killed by Alpha Hart.

"What do you mean?"

I cleared my throat and ran a hand through my hair, "Luke's ordering the attack for tomorrow at sunset. And we're gonna be in the front line."

I could hear her gulp and clamily, she set her notebook and pencil down on her bed. Not a moment later, she was pacing the room.

"Luke's positive?" She asked, biting her thumbnail.

"Yeah," I nodded, "Don't worry, Jo. Everything will be okay. Our pack is strong."

Jo looked at me, tears brimming her eyes and she let out a deep breath, "I-I d-didn't want to tell Luke. But I-I'm scared we won't be able to stop him. I-I'm afraid he'll kill Luke."

I scoffed lightly, "You don't think Luke isn't scared about that? We're all shitting our pants on this. But it's going to be okay. You know why?"

She shook her head, a tear falling.

I walked over to her and pulled her in for a hug, 'Cause we have each others backs, Jo. The Hart pack is full of rogues that once used to be part of a real pack to begin with. They don't care about each other. But we do. And this is our ground, remember?'

She nodded, 'Yeah and we're going to protect it.'

'Damn straight,' I agreed, causing us to laugh a bit. When we quieted down, I pointed to her stuff on the bed, 'You better get back to it. It's due tomorrow.'
