WIRT

"Stop, you're going to kill something."

Wirt and Bill had been walking the wood for hours. Bill was starting to get restless, jumping from tree to tree, dragging sticks along the path, and now throwing rocks at anything that rustled in the trees.

"Kill something?" Bill smiled, his eyes glowing brighter. "When have you known me to do that, Beast boy?" His voice was teasing and he poked at Wirt's branches.

Wirt narrowed his eyes. Even though he knew what he was now, he hadn't completely lost sight of his true form. Or his human form. It was getting harder and harder to realize which he truly was, but he knew killing wasn't right.

Bill hadn't learned this yet. In some ways, Bill was a child, and not just because he was constantly in the form of a 12 year old. Wirt wondered if Bill remembered the body wasn't really his.

"Just because you're dark doesn't mean you have to prove it every second," Wirt said, looking away from the yellow-eyed demon.

"You're right, maybe I should start taking children's souls instead," Bill smiled again.

Wirt stopped walking and narrowed his now colorful eyes. "I don't do that."

"Maybe not, but you will soon, it's inevitable!"

"I'm not evil like you, Bill." Wirt started walking again.

"I'm not evil, O Beastly one," Bill said. His voice was teasing but something in his face changed slightly.

Wirt tilted his head at him. "So taking a child's body isn't evil? You've inhabited it for so long, how do you know he still has a soul?"

Now Bill stopped walking, his eyes glowing and glaring at Wirt. "Of course he still has a soul. I am not evil."

Wirt was so surprised by Bill's sudden seriousness, he was usually immature and wild. He searched Bill's face for a second then kept walking, deciding to leave it alone. He was in no position to talk about souls.
