Wirt

Wake up, boy

Hello?

That's it...wake up, child

What is this?

Your brother is waiting...

Wirt screamed as he woke up, making Bill wake up as well.

"What're you doing?!" Bill asked, groggily but still very irritated.

"We have to go, right now. And I need your help." Wirt said. His face looked like stone.

"Why?" Bill was now remembering the moment they had last night and tried not to look Wirt in the face. Wirt wouldn't have noticed anyway, his eyes were going crazy.

"The Beast talked to me," Wirt said as he began to walk quickly out of the cave. "I don't know why we've been wasting all this time doing...nothing." His voice was harsh at the end.

Bill jerked his head back.

Nothing? How could everything we've done be nothing?

"I thought YOU were the Beast," Bill sneered, regaining his usual sarcastic tone.

Wirt spun around and glared at Bill.

"I...am NOT...a beast."

Bill was only intimidated for a moment before getting angry again at what Wirt had called "nothing".

"Oh yeah? You're a monster and you know it. You're not even that concerned for your brother anymore, you just need something to focus on! Something that won't drive you mad!" Bill spat at him.

Wirt's face turned dark and hallow as he walked even closer to Bill. Bill was forced to take a few steps back.

"I'M a monster?! YOU'VE killed a boy's soul just because you were too selfish to give up your vessel!!" Wirt's voice echoed throughout the forest.

The words cut Bill deep.

"He is not dead. You'll be the one killing a soul. Your own flesh and blood." Bill's voice was low. "Just look at you now, tell me you're not a beast."
