[Joeys POV]

Sawyer: So how's the meal?

Joey: Good!

I lied, I didn't want him to feel bad but I'd rather be at home.

Sawyer: Are you ok Joey? You haven't been yourself lately?

Joey: I'm fine, just a little tired.

Sawyer: Do you want to leave?

Joey: No sawyer it's-

He cut me off suddenly.

Sawyer: No joey I know you better. Something's bothering you. What is it bro? You can tell me?

I picked my next few words carefully.

Joey: Sawyer the thing is, ever since I moved in with you, you've been really nice and I feel like I haven't done anything to help you. I just wanted to thank you, that's all.

Sawyer: Joey, you're like a brother to me I would never just leave you alone on the street.

I felt tears streaming down my face. I tried, but I couldn't hold them in.

[Sawyer's POV]

I could see Joey start to cry. I didn't know what to say so I stood up, payed for the meal and we both walked to the car.

Sawyer: Let's just head home. You'll be better after you get some sleep.

Joey: Thanks Sawyer. By the way, I'm sorry if I ruined our lunch.

Sawyer: it's ok, it wasn't you're fault.

I've never seen Joey like this. Now all I could do was take him home.

[Joey's POV]

We were a little bits away from home when Sawyer decided to stop and get some groceries.

Fifteen minutes later, Sawyer exited the store and was walking back to the car.

I smiled at him as he walked. He was carrying five bags of groceries. Sawyer was pretty strong.

[Sawyer's POV]

I could see Joey smiling at me. I started to smile back when all of a sudden his smile dropped.

Joey: Sawyer look out!

I turned around only to be swatted across the face with a baseball bat.

I was losing consciousness but managed to get up. Three street thugs stood smirking and hissing at me.

Sawyer: You got my attention. Now what? By the way, you made me drop my groceries you dirtbags.

I threw a punch and managed to take one out. Another swung at me and I barely dodged it. I tackled him to the ground and threw punch after punch.

[Joey's POV]

Sawyer took out two of the thugs! The final one was helping his friend up but stopped and picked up his bat. He was walking towards Sawyer silently.

Joey: Ah hell nah!

I jumped on his back and took him to the ground. I didn't know I was even capable of this! I stood up and looked over at Sawyer who was still beating the crap out of that one thug.

Sawyer: Nobody! *Punch* Makes me! *Punch* Drop! *Punch* My groceries! *Punch*

Joey: SAWYER!

Sawyer realized what he was doing and jumped off of the guy. I ran to the thug and noticed his face and clothes were red, blood red. I checked his pulse.

Joey: He's.... Dead.

Sawyer: Oh no. What have I done! Im going to jail Joey.

Joey: No! Maybe nobody saw! Maybe we can escape!

My party was cut short. I stood up only to notice at least ten people at the entrance of the store looking at us in awe. One was even on the phone. Most likely the police.

[Sawyer's POV]

Sawyer: This isn't good.

Joey:You think!?

I glanced down at my shirt only to notice it drenched in blood.

Sawyer: Let's go. Now.

We hopped in my car and drove off. Just in time too, the cops had started to arrive.

Sawyer: Shit!

Joey: What!?

Sawyer: My groceries!

Joey: Screw you Sawyer..
