Chapter 13: An eye for an Eye

[Joey's POV]

I was sitting on the couch using the laptop that Shane let me borrow, when I remembered something.

Joey: SAWYER!

Sawyer came running out with a bat.

Sawyer: What! Who's here what's wrong!?

Joey: You know how we left the motel in a hurry yesterday?

Sawyer: Yeah?

Joey: We left Hitch!

Sawyer: ... Oh shit... I totally forgot about Hitch! We're going back for him!

Joey: As much as I want to, we can't. Remember, Shane told us not too!

Sawyer: I got an idea. Lets go.

Joey: Wait, we have no car.

Sawyer: We have Luke's.

Joey: We're is Luke?

I looked in the kitchen and found him sprawled on the table. There was a price of chicken on his lip. I grabbed his keys from his coat.

Sawyer: Let's go.

[Sawyer's POV]

We drove for about ten minutes before arriving back at the motel.

Sawyer: Damn it.

I noticed a couple of cops talking to Fred.

Joey: You still have the key to the motel right?

Sawyer: I took them out of my pants pocket. Yeah ther-

He took the key and made a run for the motel room.

Sawyer: Fuck! Joey get back here!

Joey: Sawyer: This is Hitch, he's family.

I didn't know what to say, instead I sunk into m seat and waited.

•5 Minutes Later•

Joey: *Whispers* Open the door!

I noticed Joey standing outside his door with a couple of things in hand. Hitch, the laptop and the camera. I opened the door and we drove off.

Sawyer: Woooooo!

Joey: Woo!

Sawyer: How the hell did you do that? How didn't the cops notice?

Joey: What can I say, I'm amazing.

[Joey's POV]

•15 Minutes Later•

We made it back to the cabin and noticed another car parked.

Joey: Is that Shane?

Sawyer: I think so, is it?

We walked inside. I put away the camera and laptop. Sawyer locked Hitch in his room.

Joey: There's nobody here, who's car is that?

Sawyer: Hello?

Joey: Wait, where's Luke?

I ran into the kitchen, but Luke was gone.

Joey: Shit-zu! Whoever it is, they took Luke!

The door opened and in came Shane.

Shane: Hey guys! Who's car is that?

Sawyer: We don't know. We thought It was you. We're worried, Luke is gone.

Shane: Well fuck me. We're do you think he went?

Joey: I don't know.

We stood there trying to figure out what to do next, when we heard a noise coming from the bathroom.

???: Help me *crying* ple-e-ese.

Joey: Shoot!

Sawyer: Go!!

We ran but the door was locked. We heard the window open from inside but we couldn't open the damn door. We headed an engine roar from outside.

Shane: I'll go try and catch him, you guys try and get this door open.

Sawyer: Alright.

Joey: This is we're my karate comes in handy.

Sawyer: You know karate.

Joey: I wish.

[Sawyer's POV]

Joey kicked the door open.

Sawyer: Damn Joey!

He smiled, but it disappeared when we noticed Luke.

Sawyer: Ah, Luke *Gags* what happened!

Joey ran out of the room and I heard his lunch come back out.

Luke: Sa..Sawyer.. Is that you.

Sawyer: Yeah buddy, please, stay with us.

One of his legs was cut up really badly. His right eye was completely covered in blood and one of his left arm showed a bit of bone.

I couldn't help but cry.

Sawyer: Luke.. Who did this to you!?

Luke: The.. The guy. Fr.. Fro... From yes.. Yesterday.

Sawyer: Please bro, don't die on me now!

Luke: I'm sorry. I.. Love you bro.

I cried and cried. Then finally, his head fell. Joey walked in and wailed wildly. Hitch was barking loudly from the door.

???: Fuuuuck!

*Gunshot*

Sawyer: What's happening!

Joey: I don't know!

We ran outside. Joey fell to the ground, but instead of crying, past out. I noticed that car we saw drive off.

Sawyer: No! fuck!

I looked down from where the car drove off. I noticed a pile of blood. It kept flowing towards me, and finally touched my shoes. Shane laid on the ground with a bullet in his chest. I ran to him.

Sawyer: No no no no no! Shane!

Shane: What can I *Coughs up blood* what can I say, I'm a fuck up.

He died right there, in my arms. I then noticed a note of the floor. I picked it up and read it.

" You know the saying, an eye for an eye? Well, I changed it to, a brother for a brother. So I took two. See you soon Joey and Sawyer." Signed Craig.

I clenched my fist and ripped up the note. It was getting dark, Hitch barked louder every second, and I sat on my knees next to Shane's body.
