The game plan really wasn't that simple. Find the Shuten Dōji and kill it. After that? Well....they didn't really know.
"But what if it's already dead?" Lydia asks, walking as close as humanly possible to Stiles. They'd returned to the Yuki, flashlights and weapons in hands as Emory guided them through what she remembered of the long tunnels.
"It's here. I think this way." Emory says, leading them all to the right.

A chill runs down Lydia's spine and she grabs a hold of Stiles arm, pulling him closer.
"You alright?" He asks and she simply nods. It seems like an eternity as they continue to walk down endless tunnels and smaller caverns, the darkness engulfing them until suddenly Emory stops. The clearing they've arrived in is actually fairly lit up, once again by that invisible lighting source, and they proceed to turn off their own lights.

"Is this it?" Stiles asks, his grip tightening on Lydia. Emory nods, incapable of words as she stares up and around the cavern.
"Is Shuten here?" Allison asks. Emory didn't need to respond as a low growl comes from out of the shadows.
"Go, Stiles." Emory says. "Take Lydia and go!"

So he did. Not even thinking twice before turning around with Lydia and racing back into the darkness. After a while of running, they reach a different clearing, both teens panting for breath.
A mechanical like laughter sounds from above and Stiles groans.
"I thought those little shits were gone." He stands in front of Lydia.
"What? What are you talking about?"
But then several Tengu appear, Lydia's question not needing an answer.

They were exactly as Deaton described them: large beaks as mouths, opened wide in laughs and giggles, broad wings plastered to their backs, fluttering every now and then as an indication of life, and the rest of their cat like bodies a golden brown color. Stiles opens the palm of his hand out, a long, thin, icicle forming between his fingers with both ends sharp.

"What do we do?" Lydia asks as she counts out five of the Tengu circling them.
"You?" He pauses to test the weight of his weapon. "Try not to get killed."
The laughter echoes off of cavern walls equally matching the viciously dim lighting. Suddenly one of the Tengu lunges forward, towards Stiles, but he takes the icicle in hand and slashes the beast back, still allowing it to live.

Another steps in Lydia's direction and she lets out a shriek before kicking it in the face. Stiles found it kind of odd how they weren't really doing much other than looking the teens up and down as if examining their every flaw. Now and then one of them would let out a sickly laugh that sent chills through his spine and reminded him of some horror film.

Two of the monsters came at Stiles, distracting him as the other three went to Lydia and soon enough they were in the midst of a miniature war. Lydia would kick and jump and run a little as Stiles slashed at their skins, not killing but only scarring.

"Stiles!" Lydia had called to him from across the cavern to see she was crawling along the ground as her now, probably twisted, ankle swelled. Stiles cursed under his breath, sprinting towards the strawberry blonde and this time he had no choice but to kill the Tengu that hovered over her. Quickly, he helps her up, limping over to set her down on the cave wall before going back into the fight.

"I want to help." Lydia winces a protest.
"You've obviously done something to your ankle and can't even walk, no helping today." He commands and she can't even get out another argument before he's gone. Lydia couldn't see much of what he was doing, the room becoming a freezing cold temperature as cries of pain slip from either Stiles mouth or the Tengu.

She knew he was killing them now, the thumps of their lifeless bodies echoing off the walls like the rest of the noises that were being made. She counted out four before the cave silenced, curiosity and fear taking over her actions.
"Stiles?" Lydia called out softly, attempting to stand only to topple over with a grunt of weakness. A moment later the boy appeared, his weapon clutched firmly in one hand as he surveyed their surroundings.

"I can't find the last one." He breathed, circling the strawberry blonde. Lydia took in his tattered appearance, blood coming from practically invisible wounds.

Out of some instinct, Stiles looked upwards to the roof of the cave just in time to see the last Tengu loosen a stalactite, the pointed rock coming down too fast for him to react. The sharp end of the decent sized rock embedded itself in the girls skin, a gasp escaping her throat.

"LYDIA!"

Authors note:

Been a while huh? I feel like an apology is not enough for my absence but I honestly truly do feel bad for not posting in a while. This chapter was extremely hard to write because I wasn't exactly sure how I was gonna end the book or what I was gonna do but the next chapter or the chapter after that WILL be the lasts chapter.

I didn't get to watch Teen Wolf last night cause I don't have MTV so I go over to my friends house on the weekends and watch it ( #goals).

Ummm....really all I have to say so, stay tuned!

Comment, read, enjoy!
