Pop pop pop another body drops,
Keep my eyes closed hoping that it will soon stop,
Walk out my building the next morning blood decorates the concrete,
But people go about there day cuz this is normal in the streets,
Never wondering weather it was a little girl or little boy who was running to the store for some fruit roll up,
A young brotha saw some dude that played him and decided to roll up,
Spray the block with bullets and you know bullets ain't got no names,
That poor little boy and girl had no idea they were not going to see the next day,
Or did those people ever wonder which momma lost a piece of her heart,
Cuz her only son decided he wanted to play a different part,
She tried to steer him in the right direction but he wanted to show he was about that life,
Saw a nigga that that stayed talking shit and decided that night he was gonna make it right,
Then some little kid came in the way and he realized his life would change in a minute,
Tried to run off but the cops caught him thanks to a witness,'
young man, maybe 17, now got 25 year with no parole,
May have had his life ahead of him but now that's on hold,
Shit like this happens every life's lost from senseless shit and that senseless shit turns into more senseless shit and it becomes a cycle that does not quit,
I walk around my hood with a prayer stuck in my head and a goodbye letter deep in my pockets,
Just in case my family nows that I always kept them with me like a locket,
My hood where I was born and raised is a place that I fear everyday,
My people with skin as black mines are who I hope that don't take me away,
I have seen niggas go buck over a brotha stepping on their sneakers,
I wish they would stand so tough against racism, brutality but black lives are cheaper,
And there easily forgotten unless the one behind the gun is Anglo-Saxon,
That's when black lives matter, when it all becomes tragic,
But black lives do matter and that is some thing that shouldn't even be discussed,
But when are we going practice what we preach and start loving us,
So next time we mention Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown , Eric Garner, Jeremy Davis,
Let's please mention Michael Edwards from the bx, Kyle Grant aka slim from Harlem, Shanelle Christopher from Queens, and Joshua Mcclayton,
There lives mattered too and it was taken away by people that could've been there blood,
Black lives matter, it's not a hashtag that we tweet one day then turn around a body a brotha at the club.
