I'd rather die on my feet,
Than live on my knees,
Put my life on the line,
So my children won't bleed,
You hate me don't you,
my black skin has done the impossible,
You're scared aren't you,
The slaves that you've trained have become hostile,
You weren't ready for the roses that have grown from concrete,
to be ready to fight and burn your white sheets,
And there ready to rip your flag apart and say fuck lady liberty,
Cuz that bitch promised freedom but forgot about people like me,
So we're gonna burn this mutha down until your ready to see,
That just like you care for your children,
We care for are seeds,
And just like your ready to protect you own,
I'll fight for this brotha that I have never met,
Cuz his pains is my pains,
And I felt it when he wept,
And I felt when he had his hands up and screamed please don't shoot,
And how a mama screamed in pain when she saw her baby on the news,
And how a brotha can't even walk around park avenue,
Without being hunted and charged at like a fuckin animal
The black genocide that just seems to continues to grow,
And I'm tired of the same story line but just a different show,
And I'm tired of writing poems that just seems to be ignored,
And the cries of brothas and sistas that seem to go unheard,
So until our lives matter get ready to feel our pain,
Because yeah may have to lose some but we will have so much to gain.
