3: Daisy

*Kat's POV*

I woke up to the sound of someone knocking on the door, and I looked over at my clock. 2:30 am. Who would come knocking on someone's door at this time of night? I sighed and pushed the covers off of me, and looked down, remembering I didn't have pants on.

I put on a pair of shorts and stumbled across the hall, and to the kitchen before opening the front door, but no one was there. I looked down and saw a note with a single daisy sitting on the doorstep.

"What?" I muttered to myself and picked up the flower and the note.

I shut the door and put the flower on the kitchen counter before reading the note.

Wait on the front porch step across the street tomorrow at 5 pm. I missed you. Can't wait to see you again.

I looked at it over and over to see if there was a signature or anything, but couldn't find who it was from.

"It's too early for this mess." I muttered to myself and put the flower in a vase, and then went into my room. I put the note on my bedside table and got back in bed.

I woke up a few hours later and noticed that it was 6 in the morning. I'm going to have to go next door and pick Zander up again. I have to babysit him from 6:15 until 5:30. I got up and got dressed before walking next door.

"Oh, Kat. Thank goodness you're here, doll. I have to leave for work early. Can you keep an eye on Zander here instead of at your house?" Zander's mother said as she opened the door.

"Of course, Mrs. Dawson. If that's what you need, then I will do it. You go ahead and get to work, I'll watch Zander for you." I said and she thanked me before walking out the door.

I walked into Zander's room and smiled when I noticed he was still asleep.

"Kat?" Zander said, popping one eye open.

"Yes, baby?" I said softly.

"Yay, you're here!" Zander said excitedly and I laughed softly.

"Of course I am. Your mommy is going to work. Are you hungry?" I said and he nodded.

"I am." He said and reached up, as if to ask me to get him out of bed.

"Alright, come here. I'll take you to the living room so you can watch tv while I make breakfast. Sound good?" I said and got him out of bed.

"Yeah!"

I laughed softly and took him to the living room and turned the tv on for him before going into the kitchen.

All throughout the day, I kept remembering the note I had gotten at 2:30. I kept trying to think of who might have left it, and how they must have known that my favorite flower is daisies. Before I knew it, it was 5:30, and Zander's mom was home. Once I was home, I kept thinking of whether I should actually go or not.

Still, I wanted to know.. Who left the note?
