Broken Pieces {5SOS}

4: Him

*Kat's POV*

After a few minutes of staring at the note, I decided to do it. I was going to go meet with whoever had left the note. I quickly changed from my plain white t shirt and workout shorts, and put on a Minnie Mouse shirt that I had gotten from the Disney store with Zander, and a pair of skinny jeans.

"What am I even doing?" I muttered to myself and walked across the street.

I sat on the bottom step and looked at my phone to check the time. It was 6:10. The person was late..

I looked down and saw another note, but it was sitting right by my foot.

Follow the flowers. You'll be excited to see me, I bet. :)

I looked at the edge of the step and saw a daisy that led toward the backyard of the abandoned house. I hesitantly picked it up and walked forward. With each five or six steps I took, there was another flower. Eventually, I found myself holding about ten or more flowers, and there was another note.

You've made it this far. You've got a little more to go, but you'll be pleased with the final location. This time, it's roses instead of daisies. I couldn't find enough daisies, so hopefully roses will do. :(

"What?" I muttered to myself and stuffed the note on my pocket. "This is so cliche."

I then followed the trail of roses, and by the time I reached the end, I was at the park. I always loved the park.

"You've reached your final location, Kat."

I smiled wide, immediately recognizing his voice. I carefully placed all of the flowers down and ran to jump into his arms.

"You didn't forget me." I whispered into his ear as I held onto him. My arms were around his neck, and my legs around his waist, so I was practically around him like a koala.

"Of course. How could I forget you?" He replied, wrapping his arms around me to make sure he was holding onto me.

"I don't know. It's just.. Michael forgot me, and I-"

"Sh. I don't care if Michael forgot you. At least I remembered you, right?"

I smiled some, but sighed when I remembered that Michael had forgotten me.

"What about Ashton? Did he forget me?" I asked, remembering that Ashton had promised that even if the rest of them forgot me, he would always remember me.

"Ashton um.. Well, Ashton kind of.. How do I say this? Uh.. Ashton doesn't remember you. I sometimes would mention you, but he would always ask who I'm talking about.."

A few tears rolled down my cheeks and fell onto his shirt.

"I.. He.. He forgot me?" I said, a few more tears rolling down my cheeks.

"I'm so sorry, Kat. He's been a jerk the past few years. But, I couldn't wait to see you again, baby girl." He said softly.

I laughed softly at the pet name. He had always called me 'baby girl'. Ever since we met, he called me that. I don't even know why, but he did.

"I'm glad you remembered me. I.. Thank you." I said and smiled, not letting go of him.

"Shh, no need to thank me. Like I said, I could never forget you."

"And you remembered that I love daisies." I said and he laughed as he set me down.

"I do. And I remember you used to put them in your hair," he paused and grabbed one of the daisies and carefully slipped it in my hair. "Just like this. And you'd say 'look at me! I'm a princess!'. It was the cutest thing."

I blushed a little and looked down.

"That's a little embarrassing.."

"It's not." He said with a small laugh. "I'm sorry not all of the flowers were daisies. I couldn't get enough daisies, so I got some roses and a carnation. I hope that's okay.."

"It's okay. It's a nice bunch of flowers. Thank you." I smiled wide and hugged him once more.

"Oh god. We couldn't be more different. Yet, we still get along so well."

"We've always been like that." I said and he shrugged.

"True."

Note: They didn't mention all of their differences. There was just one small thing that made him remember how different they truly are.
