Chaper 12: Gray's determination

A thunder boomed across magnolia, rain pouring down on the streets. A lonely woman with brown long hair was holding her umbrella over her head, running down the streets to her house.

A shop keeper was pulling in a sign and a girl was staring out through the balcony window, her parents cooking food in the kitchen.

Juvia was standing by the guild window, her hands behind her back, and she was staring at the beautiful rain that was pouring down upon the once dry magnolia. The guild was quiet and silent as a few mages was discussing things with each other. Team Natsu was sitting by the bar, Natsu's head on the counter, Erza leaning her cheek on her hand, her elbow propped on the counter. Another thunder boomed above the guild as Wendy was sitting in the bar chair, Charle in her lap.

Gray's eyes was closed, as if thinking, as he took a sip out of his cold drink. Happy was sitting on the bar counter, staring at Natsu in worry.

Natsu hadn't said a word since they arrived at the guild, he and Gray haven't fought in two whole days. The last time day did was the day when Lucy disappeared.

Mira was cleaning a glass, staring at the team in sadness as Levy was sitting with her body curled up in a ball, hiding her face in her legs. Cana was sitting next to her, patting her on the head with a sad look on her face. Gajeel was sitting on the other side of Levy, Lily sitting on the table, eyes closed and arms crossed.

Juvia sighed and turned around as she saw lightning a few block away, looking at the sad guild.

''Lucy.'' Juvia thought, looking down with sadness. ''Please come home, we miss you.''

Lucy's face with a big smile appeared in her head saying; Don't be sad, Juvia. I like when you smile. I know for sure that Gray will notice you someday.

Juvia fisted her palms, letting them fall to her sides, her eyes hiding behind her bangs.

Natsu turned his head to the left, his eyes dull and his mind far away from the guild. Lucy was slamming the doors open, smiling at the loud and noisy guild.

''I'm home. She would scream and Natsu would shot up and run to her, hug her tightly, begging her not to leave them again.

But that was only his imagination. This was reality, and in reality, Lucy was still missing.

Gray slammed his glass on the counter, the glass breaking and everyone turned to him as he stood up, a serious facial expression.

''I'm going to go on a mission.'' He muttered, walking over to the board.

Erza closed her eyes, sighing, but stood up and followed him.

''Gray.'' Erza started, stopping as he stopped abruptly.

''Shut it.''

Everyone's eyes widened and Erza's did too.

Gray had just told Erza to shut up.

''Gray.'' Erza said again, unfazed of his comment. '' You can't go out in the rain.''

''I can, and I will.'' he said, turning around with a hard stare. '' You guys act like she is dead or something.''

Levy looked up, tears clearly showing in her eyes but her eyes was wide. A small choked gasp escaped Wendy's mouth as she stared at the serious looking Gray.
