A Shot At Love

Chapter 5~Confused

Right now i'm in my room trying to finish up the rest of my homework. I'm so tired from being stranded all day that I can barely keep my eyes open.

I got home about an hour ago, and was instantly interrogated by my parents. It took me forever to get away from their questions, though telling them i had school work seemed to do the trick.

My phone beeps, making me lose my concentration on my homework. Once I see who the message is from my face breaks into a smile.

Egotistical jock-- Hey Autumn, sorry i'm just now replying. I had a lot of explaining to do once I got home. But i'm glad you made it home safely.

I hurry up and type my reply not wanting to keep him waiting.

Autumn-- It's ok I understand. I hope i didn't get you in to much trouble, and i'm glad you made it home safely too.

Not even a minute later I get a text back.

Egotistical jock-- Naw you ain't get me in any trouble. once i explained what happened my parents was cool with it. Don't worry about it.

Autumn-- Well that's good. I would have felt completely guilty if I did.But I have to cut this conversation short because as much as I would love to keep talking to you, I have some homework to get finished.

Egotistical jock-- Ok imma let you get to it. Goodnight Autumn.

Autumn-- Goodnight Trey.

After I send trey my last message I get back to my homework. It's not long after that i'm getting ready for bed, and before I know it I start to drift off to sleep with a tiny smile on my face

"Autumn!" I hear my mother yell, disturbing me from my sleep. "Your going to be late for school if you don't get up!"

My eyes snap open at her words. I look at the clock on my phone and see that in fact i have slept in. It's 6:53 and i still have to go pick up Jailen. I rush around my room looking for something to put on. I find a pair of black leggings, and a all white t-shirt. I include a cream colored scarf with my outfit, trying to make myself look somewhat decent.

After I finish getting dress, I put on my white air force ones and run in the bathroom to brush my teeth and fix my hair. I comb my hair into a ok ponytail, then insert some pearl earnings in my ears. After I finish doing that i'm ready to leave.

I grab my bookbag, then my phone and rush downstairs. I sprint past my mom, my dad, and my brother snatching my car keys off the table along the way.

"Bye!" I yell "See you guys later." And with that im out the door. I hurry up and drive to Jailens house going faster than i should be. It's worth it though because i make it there in approximately 5 minutes.

When i pull up in front of her house i beep the horn over and over again. Jailen comes running out of her house and then jumps in the car.

"Why the hell are you late?" She screeches as i pull out of her driveway.

"I slept in. What time is it?" I say trying to keep my attention on the road.

"7:10" she respond.

"Ok we have 10 minutes to make it there." I say, stating the obvious.

After 3 minutes i'm parking my car in the schools lot.

"Ready?" I ask, causing her to reply 'ready'. With that we grab our backpacks and start running inside the school.
