Chapter 3

5:30 a.m.   still Friday
Emily's pov
We finally made it to my house and I was about to open my car door until Ashton opened it for me taking my hand helping me out. I don't know why but when he touched my hand I felt something in my stomach. We got inside and I saw my moms shoes at the door and that means she's still here. "Mom!?!" I whispered yelled because Kate and Steve, my foster dad, are still asleep. "I'm in the kitchen sweetie." She said. "Ashton this is my mom, mom this is Ashton." I said introducing them to each other. " Hi, Mrs.Knight nice to meet you." Ashton said really nicely. "You never told him yet?" My mom asked me. Instantly I knew she was talking about me being adopted and her being my foster mom. I shook my head no and said, "Does anybody want some cofee?" Trying to create another subject. "Me please." Ashton said. "Honey, what's with all the noise?" I heard a voice say from the top of the staircase. We all looked at the stairs and saw my dad coming over to my mom. He pecked her on the cheek then turned to me. "Why are you up so ea- why is there a boy here?"he said giving Ashton a death glare. I was about to say something but Ashton beat me to it. "Hello, I'm Ashton Fletcher Irwin." Ashton put out his hand for my dad to shake but my dad just rolled his eyes. Typical. He does this every time I'm with a boy. He either would be mean and cruel to them or just forbid me from seeing them. "Honey, Ashton is staying here weather you like it or not." "Fine but where is he going to sleep, the guess room isn't finished till tomorrow." He said smartly crossing his arms over his chest smirking like he won the battle that wasn't even happening. "He can sleep with me." I said getting Ashtons hand. "Fine but no funny business up there." My dad said to both of us but mostly Ashton. "Yeah, Yeah we know." I told my dad and dragged Ashton upstairs to my room. "Get ready to be amazed." I said opening my room door. "Woah, your room is huge(pic to the side)." I went to my bed and sat down. I patted the spot next to me. He slowly came up to me and sat down.

"I'm sorry for what happened down there." I said looking at him in the eye.

"It's okay, is he even your dad because he doesn't look like you at all." He said. "No, there not my parents me and my sister were adopted by them when my real parents died in a house fire when I turned 17. We have been living with them for 2 years." I said but choked out the last two parts being on the verge of tears. Ashton leaned over and hugged me. The door cracked open and Kate walked in. "Can I stay here Em, I had another one of those dreams." She said rubbing her eye. She looked at me and then her eyes darted over to Ashton. "Oh my gosh! Your Ashton Irwin from 5 seconds of summer!" She yelled running to Ashton. He dropped his arms from me to give Kate a hug. I'm not gonna lie, I missed his arms around me. Ashton gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek. She was fan girling so much it looked like she was about to faint. "Em can I talk to you in private?" She asked pointing out the door. I nodded and got off the bed walking with her out the door. I gave Ashton the look that says "I'll be right back". "Do you like Ashton?" Kate asked me once we were out the room. "Ew. No.... okay maybe a little." I said quietly hoping no one heard me except for Kate. "Bye girls, Emily your in charge me and your father are going to work." My mom said kissing both of us on the forehead. "Bye." We both said to her in usion. I heard the door shut close and I sighed a sigh of relief because she didn't hear me. "You can sleep in my room if you want Kate." I told her and we both walked back in the room. "Ashton can I talk to you in private?" My sister said.
