Chapter 21

Stephanie's P.O.V.

It's been a while since Emily went in the bathroom and Luke decided to go and check on her. I knocked on the door but didn't hear anything. Luke grabbed the doorknob and turned it which caused a loud creaking sound go throughout the house. We stepped inside and I couldn't believe what I saw. I turned to Luke and he looked just like me. Emily was laying on the floor unconscious. In one hand a bottle of pills and in the other hand a note. "Luke check her pulse while I call the others." I say and start texting Michael.

                       Michael, you need to
                     Come over to Emily's
                      And bring the.     others.        
Why, is it a

                        This is no time to be
                    Acting flirty and this
                 Might be a bad surprise.

Well the others
are with me and
we just got in
the car rn

A few seconds later, Michael came running through the door. "What happened?" Calum asked and I led them to the bathroom. "Emily!" Calum, Ashton, and Michael yelled at the same time. "She left us a note it said,

Dear Stephanie, Michael, Luke, Calum, and Ashton,

       I didn't want to say goodbye like this through a piece of paper but I am. I am so sorry guys but I have to do this I can't put up with the hate any more. Also, I will see you guys soon. Remember what you told me Stephanie, that I will see my loved ones when the time comes, well that time is now. Michael, thank you for being my friend from the start and thank you for introducing your friends to me who have became my best friends. I love you all.:'( Goodbye for now.

I said and all of them were in tears at the end of it. Especially Michael. He was the only one who was super close to her and it was like she was his sister. He just loss his sister. I saw Ashton pick up his phone and call someone. A few minutes later the ambulance came and took Emily. "Can I come?" Michael asked in a small voice still crying. "I'm sorry but only family can go in the tru-." The man said but got interrupted by Michael. "I'm her brother." The man nodded and told Michael to follow him. Once the truck was gone we got in the car and started to drive to her hospital.

We made it to the hospital and we all rushed in probably disturbing everyone in the waiting room. Luke rushed up to the lady. "C-can we see E-E-Emily please?" Luke choked out. He and Michael took this the hardest. The lady said 302 and we speed-walked there. Once we got their Luke froze and didn't go inside. "What's wrong, Luke?" I ask and he cried some more. "This is the room where they put Emily in last time. This is the room where she was only one second away from dying." He said and Ashton gave him a hug. I opened the door and saw Emily laying still on a hospital bed and a crying Michael stood next to her. "Michael? She's okay, the heart monitor is beeping. She is still alive don't worry." Calum said trying to calm him down. I went up to Emily and touched her cold, pale skin. It felt like touching ice for the first time. I flinched and turned to Michael. "Do you wanna go see how May and Kate are doing." I ask and he nods. Even though I don't like her like that,she was Michael's first person to love and I have to respect that. We get out of the room and go find May's room which is two more rooms down from Emily's. I walk inside and see May laying there. A huge bandage wrapped around her head where you can only see her nose. She had multiple bruises on her body and her purple hair turned into gray hair. We spent a few more minutes there until people came inside which looked like her parents and the doctor. "Who are you?" The doctor asked us and I turned to Michael. "I'm Michael, May's ex-boyfriend and this is Stephanie, her half cousin." Michael lied and the doctor nodded, believing him. "Ok, well I have so bad news. We tried to save her but we couldn't. It was to late, so today we unwrap her face and unplug the cords in her. You have 5 minutes." The doc said and her parents were bursting with tears.   They tried to hold it in but they couldn't, sadly. The doc came back and started to unwrap her head. Her eyes were wide open and the harsh brown eyes that used to burn holes in my eyes were now a soulless grey. We left the room and started to go to Kate's room. When we got their we already saw the other's there. The heart monitor is beeping and unlike May's, Kate's face was not covered and she had stitches in her stomach. Out of no where the heart monitor let out a long beep and Kate's eyes shot open. The oxygen in the machine she was hooked up to stopped working and multiple nurses came in at one time. They pushed us out and told us that we can't stay in the hospital for "killing someone; breaking the machine" and we better be glad that they don't call the cops on us. Now that, pissed off Luke and Michael. They argued that they didn't touch anything so they had to call security on us to kick us out. Now we are sitting on the sidewalk and one question came to mind. "Who is going to tell her parents?" I asked and every one exchanged worried glances to each other. I took out my phone and dialed her parents number. 

"Hello... Yes this is Stephanie and I have some very important news...no she is not pregnant...she is in the hospital because she committed suicide...Calm down Mrs. Collins she is still alive...alright bye." I say into the phone and then I hang up. "Her and Mr. Collins is on their way." I say seriously and they chuckle. "What?" I ask and they laugh even more. "Why don't you call them their real name? You sound weird when you say 'Mrs. and Mr. Collins'." Calum says mocking me at the end. I roll my eyes as they keep on laughing. I start walking away from them and see a nurse walking with a patient. Then the patient turns and I see her. Emily is alive.

Luke's P.O.V.
I've always heard the saying, "You never know what your missing, until its gone." But I never understood that saying. Well today I do. When I saw the unconscious body of Emily, a part of me felt lost. Like it was missing. That part was my heart. Emily stole my heart and she didn't even know it. I love Emily. And I always will. If she doesn't get to breath anymore than neither do I. What I'm trying to say is if she dies, I die. We all stopped laughing when Stephanie came back looking a LOT more happier than she usually looks. "Why are you so smiley all of the sudden?" I ask her but she doesn't reply. Instead a small girl comes from behind her with her parents. Then I realized that small girl was Emily.
