Patrick's P.O.V
Y/N was fixing her hair, again. The only reason I wasn't whining for her to hurry up was because it was her birthday and as a good best friend I kept my mouth shut. A few years ago her and I tried the whole "dating thing" which didn't really work out. I was too awkward and busy with my band and she was going through a stressful time in her life so we decided it was better to just be friends, breaking up after about 9 months and she was still one of the closest people in my life. She was always over, we would watch movies and sit on couch talking till three am about the stupidest things. She would even sleep over sometimes on the couch or the other side of the bed, I gave her all the space she wanted. Hell it was almost as if we were dating, she even came to my bands shows and sang along loudly since she knew all the words, but we still never made it official. I assume I'm in too deep of the friend zone to ever make a move now.

But seeing her standing there, in that little black dress she picked out and sent me tons of pictures of, she was absolutely gorgeous. Remembering the way she used to kiss me, slow and needy, or when she would sit on lap and let me play with her hair, or how she would fall asleep curled up against me as I held her tightly. She was kind and funny and amazing, she didn't care who we were in high school and after it ended we were still extremely close. We still play around but never like that. I never pushed or tried anything but she was always one who never really knew the line between personal space and I'm literally laying on top of you. But hey I'm not complaining.

"Patrick. Patrick." She said snapping my out of my memories. "Do I look good?" She asked dancing around in a circle for me. I was lost for words at how stunning she was for a moment that all I could do was nod awkwardly, mouth hanging half open. She only laughed and mumbled something like "why do I even ask you for fashion advice?" Grabbing my keys we headed out to a little bar/club she wanted to go to. Since she made me promise her a night out for her birthday, it was just the two of us, she leaned against the window yapping about how since I was 20 and she was officially 21 I was the designated driver tonight. Getting into the club was easy since she somehow knew the guy working there, he starred at her and nodded his head slowly as she walked in making my chest tighten momentarily with anger.

A few drinks later she dragged me to the colorful dance floor, where I protested as hard as I could but she was stubborn and persuasive and I caved. After a few songs, and a lot more drinks she started to act funny. We had been drunk before but she was absolutely waisted, leaning against me for balance. "I-I think w-we need to go home... don't want you getting to c-crazy..." She slurred loudly in my ear over the music. I laughed and nodded, half carrying her out to car. She turned the radio up to full blast, shouting the lyrics, well shouting something that sounded like the lyrics, even louder than the car. She shook her hair around, something similar to a head bang, a bad one, and smiled at me, I rolled my eyes in mock annoyance and she only stuck her tongue out at me while giggling. Shouting "you know you love me." Over the speakers. You have no idea.

"Wanna just sleep here tonight? It's late and I don't think you should be by yourself." I asked and she only nodded with a drunken grin on her face, even shit faced she was still adorable. I share my apartment with two other friends but they were out doing god knows what tonight. Y/N stumbled into the kitchen and slowly made her way to my room, probably looking for the bathroom. "I hope you had fun tonight because you gonna hate life tomorrow morning." I said chuckling and followed her. Once in the room she had slipped out of the black dress and had only one of my shirts on like she used to for that short period of time we were together. It was kind of shocking seeing her this way, but God she looked beautiful. Not only that but she was starring at me through her eyelashes, her Y/C/E eyes shining with something other than intoxication. "I think we could have a little more fun." She said in a low voice as I just stood there like an idiot in the doorway.  She walked slowly over to me, no pants just my old T-shirt and her arms snaked lazily around my neck, before I could protest her lips were on mine and I swear time stood still.
