Chapter 55: It hurts

ANNA'S P.O.V

"So when is your surgery?" Emily asked as I stayed with her.

I told her about the whole things that happened to me. She was so surprised when I told her I was dying. Emily is such a sweet girl. She may be young but she is very wise.

I sighed. "In 3 weeks, I guess"

"What is it? You don't seem okay, Anna"

I looked up to see her, she had a worry face. I'm not sure how I'm gonna tell her, or anyone.

"Well?" I asked as dr. Finn looked worried.

"It's.. the tumor had grown bigger than the last time I checked. See this round thing in your head? That's the tumor. It grew bigger and pressed the upper part of your brain, which explained why you had a massive headache. Normally the tumor is not growing bigger but in your case, it is, which really surprised me"

"I- how is that happened?" I couldn't help but so worried about it.

"It's because of your immune system, Anna. You have an immunocompromised where it is hard for your immune system to fight with foreign particles that enter your body, which cause the infection or the tumor to easily grow bigger"

I sighed in hopeless. I was fine months ago, I survived the illness. But now I got another problem in my immune system. What am I supposed to do?

"Then what am I gonna do?" I asked, asking for hope.

"I will do my best to give you the best treatment. For now I will just give you another supplement for you to consume, and also we're gonna do the surgery in the next 3 weeks"

"Do everything you need to do, doc. I'm not ready to die soon" I sighed.

"I won't let that happen. I will do my best, Anna. For now, please don't get stressed. Stay at home and have some rest. Eating healthy and don't get too tired"

"Okay. Thanks, doc" I smiled at him.

"So that's it" I said as I finished telling her about my recent health status.

"Oh Anna I'm so sorry to hear that. But you're gonna be okay, you are a strong girl and I know you can beat it" she smiled at me, it warms my heart.

"Thank you, Em. You've always been so nice to me"

"I like you, Anna. I wish I could have a sister like you"

"Well guess what? You can be my sister, it would be so nice to have a sister like you" I smiled at her, poking her cheek.

Her eyes then lit up. "Oh my God really? That's amazing! I've always wanted to have a sister" she hugged me. I couldn't help but smiled, she did really make me feel so much better.

We spent hours talking and joking. For a 13 years old girl, Emily is a very cheerful and talkative girl I have ever met in my life. My phone suddenly vibrated to a phone call. I picked it up to see a call from Nathan. I answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hi baby, I miss you already" the sound of his voice calms my heart.

"I miss you too, babe. Are you there already?"

"Yes, we're on our way to our hotel to drop the things then go to the rehearsals"

"Aww good luck and have fun on the rehearsal, babe"
