*Jessica POV*

I rise from bed early and carefully step over Daisy. I barely slept last night and when I did, I dreamed about Elvis. The way he gazed at me when I finally looked at him. I might have imagined it, but I swear I saw his eyes soften when I looked at him.

I step into the shower and allow the hot water to wake me up. "Jess? Are you up yet?" Daisy calls from my room.

"Yes! I'm in the shower!" I call back. Quickly I finish showering and slip into fresh clothing. "What'd you need?"

Daisy smiles at me, "Oh nothing. I just figured you'd be up by now." She finishes brushing her blonde hair. "Did you sleep well?"

"Barely at all. I kept thinking about last night. I still can't believe you dragged me to that hotel!" I sit on the floor next to her and brush out my hair.

"You got to meet Elvis in person, didn't you?" I nod gingerly. "Okay then, stop complaining. Plus, I think he liked the looks of you."

I furrow my brow, "Yeah right."

"No, really. I saw the way he looked at you. And out of the two of us, I know boys a lot better than you do."

"You've done more with a boy than I have, technically speaking." Smirking, I push her lightly. "You really think he likes me?"

"I know he looked at you differently than he looked at me," she smiles. "Let's go down and get some breakfast."

After breakfast, Daisy and I walk over to the park. We meet up with our friend Jacob and go to lunch a little later.

When we arrive back at my house, my mom stops us in the entryway, "Where did you two go last night?"

Daisy looks at her and smiles, "Well Mrs Drew, we went for a walk."

Mom crosses her arms in front of her and shifts slightly, "You two went for a walk, at eleven at night?" I nod, suddenly embarrassed. "Where did you two walk to?"

"The hotel a few blocks from here," I say, watching her eyes widen in horror.

"What were you doing at the hotel?!"

"Don't worry, we just went to see if we could meet Elvis Presley. But when we got there, they wouldn't give us the room number, so we came back here then went to bed," Daisy lies, giving her best smile.

She places her hands in her hips, "Is that the truth Jessica?"

I nod, "Yes Mama. I promise that's the truth." She sighs, then returns to the kitchen.

Daisy turns to me smiling, "Let's go upstairs and get you ready for the concert!" She leads me upstairs and sets my dress out on the bed. I change quickly into my dress, then pause. Daisy turns to me. "Something wrong?"

I look up at her, "I'm just a little nervous."

"About what?"

I sigh, "I- what if-... I'm still embarrassed by last night."

She walks over and sits next to me, "What's to be embarrassed by? You responded the way I'd respond if I had written the letter to Elvis about kissing me." She pulls my hair back and clips it up in the back.  She smiles and takes a step back, "As soon as I finish your makeup, you'll be ready to go."

"Don't you have to get ready?"

"I'm already ready. I don't need to wear anything special; Elvis won't be kissing me tonight."
