III. | BLACK AMETHYST
Castle of House Stark, Winterfell, THE NORTH
"AH, SANSA, YOUR NEEDLE WORK IS BEAUTIFUL AS ALWAYS," praised Septa Mordane. "Thank you, Septa."
While Sansa, Arya, Myrcella and Athena were sewing in Sansa's chambers, the Stark boys and the princes were training with wooden swords in the practice yard. "Your Highness, yours are beautiful as well." Myrcella just nodded to the Septa, too occupied with her work. She wanted it to be perfect; her needle work was one of the presents for her aunt's upcoming nameday.
Septa Mordane continued with her praising session passing Arya, regarding hers with distaste and went to the oldest and most skilled girl in the chambers, "and my Lady, yours are excellent." The Cub glanced at the Septa with indifference but masked her boredom with a small smile, "thank you."
Athena directed her green eyes to the wolf-blooded girl, and remarked that Arya also looked quite bored with the sewing and glanced a few times at the window, where the boys were training. "Septa, may I be excused? I wish to take a walk with Lady Arya here."
"Yes, you may my Lady," she hesitantly responded, "behave Arya."
Before she departed with the youngest Stark daughter, Athena motherly kissed Myrcella's forehead and threw a smile at Sansa."I noticed that you looked quite bored with it, so now we are going to the practice yard. I want to see how the boys fare in their training" Athena said, smiling at the girl's confused face as they were walking in the castle. Arya was stunned was a euphemism. She had no clue that a Lannister could be nice and smiling, not smirking but smiling. She had seen Lannisters be nice, like for example Myrcella and Tommen, but Athena was a adult like her sister or her parents and Arya knew that adults could be dishonest and mean to children but Athena was different, she was not dishonest or mean, she was caring and kind.
If no one said that the Queen of Beauty was a Lannister, she would have never guessed it beside the obvious long golden hair, green eyes and fierce lion-like protectiveness.
"Thank you, Athy." Athena was taken aback by the nickname but she was happy that the youngest Stark girl was even talking to her.
When they arrived in the yard, Bran was fighting Tommen. Joffrey watched the fight, quite bored and waiting his turn so he could show those peasants his 'amazing' skills in sword fighting. Robb and Theon were cheering, Jon was, as always watching from afar, and Ser Rodrik Cassel and his nephew, Jory Cassel were supervising the training.
In a blow of wooden sword, Tommen was on the ground and Bran was putting his fist high in victory. Everyone cheered for Bran with the exception of Joffrey. The middle Stark boy helped the youngest prince to his feet and both laughed and walked towards Athena. Arya went immediately after her curly black haired half-brother. "You did good, pup." Athena said, "and you as well, Tom," she added, noticing her nephew downing face, it quickly changed as he heard her words, "really?" A not so convinced Tommen asked. "Yes, you are still too young, but I'm sure that Uncle Jaime will train you to be as strong as him."
