V. | QUEEN OF BEAUTY
Castle Black, the Wall, THE NORTH
JON WAS IN THE ARMOURY OF CASTLE BLACK, STILL THINKING OF WHAT HE LEFT BEHIND: Robb, his companion, best friend and his almost twin; little Rickon who begged always for a sweet with his big blue eyes; Bran, stubborn and curious, always wanting to follow and join in whatever his older brothers were doing. He missed the girls too, even Sansa, who never called him anything but 'my half-brother' since she was old enough to understand what bastard meant; Arya, the skinny little thing, he missed her so much even more than Robb; and Athena, his sweet, delicate Athena. He missed her terribly. Now almost all the things that he saw that were gold or red coloured remind him of her shiny blonde hair and the crimson dresses that she worn. Even if he was a trueborn son of his father there would have been minimal chances that he would have married her. Every seconds that he passed at the Wall, he regretted his own decisions for not accepting the proposal of the Lannisters.
"You broke my nose, bastard!"
Jon lifted his dark grey eyes at the sullen voice. Grenn loomed over him with his three of his friends behind him. "It's an improvement," he said carelessly.
"If we threw you over the Wall, wonder how long it'd take you to hit."
"I wonder if they'd find you before the wolves do," Pyp hissed menacingly.
"What're you looking at, half man?"
Tyrion Lannister was watching the scene before him calmly until Grenn noticed him. "I'm looking at you. You've got an interesting face, very distinctive faces. All of you," he began calmly. "They would look marvellous decorating spikes in King's Landing. Perhaps I'll write my sister, the Queen, about it," he was threatening them with the 'my sister is the Queen' card, and he hated it so much.
"We'll talk later, Lord Snow."
"Everybody knew what this place was and no one told me," stated the Bastard of Winterfell after his 'brothers' were gone. "No one but you. My father knew and left me to rot here at the Wall all the same."
The Imp told him what he learned about Grenn and Pyp and their back stories, and how anybody can be left behind.
"They hate me because I'm better than they are."
"It's a lucky thing none of them were trained by a master-at-arms like your Ser Rodrik." Jon lowered his head, ashamed that he thought that they were not better than him; they just didn't have the same privileges like him. "I have good news, your brother, Bran. He's woken up."
