Love

Jacob sat down next to Connie's bed and took her hand in his.
"How are you feeling?" he asked her.
"Well the morphines good, I have a laceration to my leg that's been stiched up but it wasn't deep, a concussion and some bruised ribs but other than that I'm fine" Connie told him.
"I'm so sorry baby" Jacob said.
"Jacob you don't need to say sorry, your car didn't hit me, you weren't the idiot driving" Connie said.
"I know that but if I hadn't of told you then it wouldn't have happened" Jacob told her.
"Maybe not, but Cal would still be getting away with what he's done and you would still be undercover" Connie said.
"Yeah well atleast it's over now" Jacob replied.

"Why were you and the agents looking at me before? Are you in trouble for telling me?" Connie asked him.
"No, it was nothing" Jacob said.
"Jacob tell me" Connie said sternly.
"Fine, they offered me a job" Jacob told her.
"Are you going to take it?" Connie asked him but Jacob shook his head instantly.
"No baby I'm not" he said.
"Why not?" Connie asked him.
"Because you mean so much more to me sweetcheeks and I can't have both" Jacob told her.
"You could have both if you were honest with me about it all" Connie replied.
"No babe I couldn't, the job is a liason agent in Washington DC" Jacob told her.

"Jacob just forget about me for a second and tell me how you feel about the job, what does that mean to you?" Connie asked him.
"Connie no, I love you and no job no matter how much I want it is going to change that" Jacob said.
"If you want the job then go. I know you love me and that's enough for me. I don't want to be responsible for you not having the life you want, I don't want to hold you back, that would hurt me more" Connie said sadly.

They went silent for a few minutes, then Jacob looked back up at Connie, "alright, if you're sure then I'll do it" he said.
"I am sure Jacob. Go and call Ziva" Connie said.
"I love you so much" Jacob said with a smile.
"I love you too, now go, make the call" Connie said.
"Yes bossy" Jacob grinned then he kissed her before leaving resus.

Jacob took his phone out and rang DiNozzo who answered a few seconds later.
"Does the job still stand?" he asked him.
"Yours if you want it, what about your girlfriend? I have to say she's one hot chick" DiNozzo said.
"She wants me to go, and you don't have to tell me that" Jacob said.
"Alright, I'll call Gibbs. You start in three weeks" DiNozzo said.
"Oh I look forward to it, thanks Tony" Jacob said before ending the call.
"Jacob! My office now, you have some explaining to do" Rita shouted.
"I'll save you the trouble, I'm handing in my resignation. I have a new job" Jacob said then he walked away leaving Rita dumbfounded.
