*Kenzi's POV*
I brush out my long black hair that hangs down about two inches past my shoulders. My eyes are a vibrant, piercing mint green that shock anyone who sees them. I always think of myself as a cat so I am known as 'Cat Woman' in the group and meow at my friends all the time. There is a knock on my door down the hall.
"Kenzi Nicole Peters, open this door now!" One of my best friends, Skylar Jackson, yells from outside. She is waiting for me. Her back is to me as I open the door. Her long brown curls, bouncing as she shifts her weight from one foot to the side and her deep, crystal blue eyes looking up and down the street for Isabelle Chase, or Izzy for short. I tap on her shoulder and hide behind her back as she whips around. She smiles at the trick I've pulled and turns around quickly, hugging me tightly.
"Sky!" I giggle as she tackles me in the grass and tickles me. I can't stop laughing as she continues to tickle me. Izzy comes to my rescue and tackles Skylar. I laugh as the two play wrestle, grass tangled in their hair as I continue to roll on the ground laughing. Izzy's dirty blonde hair is pulled back in a messy bun and her bluish green eyes with flicks of grey in them. That's when I see her, my worst enemy. Sky and Izzy immediately stop wrestling and glare at her as she rides her pretty pink bike past my house. Her long blonde hair is wavy down her back and her brown eyes glaring at us.
"Oh em gee, Sky girl it's been forever." Heather Green, the meanest, richest, most popular, and most flirtatious person in our whole grade, completely ignores me. I glare at her.
"Oh em gee, Heather, because like I hate you." Sky returns in a high-pitched, prissy voice, much different from her own.
"Hey girls and the devil." Dakota Hall, another one of my best friends, smiles as she approaches. I grin at her as she pulls her blonde hair up in a messy bun and her green eyes shine with mischief, the same that radiates off Sky's personality.
"Kota!" Sky and Izzy yelp, embracing her. I am inching towards Heather, fists clenched. Sky and I know what she did to me and we don't like it. Sky runs over and wraps her arms around me in a tight embrace. I finally see Lucy Carter and Kendra Pierce, two more of my best friends, walking towards us. Lucy has her blonde hair down her back in a fishtail braid and her electric blue eyes shock anyone who sees them. They are like a storm. Kendra's long, strawberry blonde curls are twirled down her back and her eyes match Sky's crystal blue ones. I look over the girls as Heather rides away. Sky, Luce, and Kota are the only ones that have dark complexions, while all the rest of the girls and I have fairer complexions and pale skin. Sky's eyes are torn from us as we walk down the road. She sees her brother, Josh's, team practicing and her eyes fall onto Dillion, the jock of eighth grade. Her mouth drops open and she stares.
"Hey Skylar!" One of the coaches yells towards us. Sky freezes.
"Uh...hi Dion." Sky states simply as she waves. He waves her onto the field. She holds up her finger for one minute. All the guys are looking at us. We look over Sky's outfit which is black Converse, skinny jeans, and her lime green Chargers jersey. She pulls her hair up into a ponytail, then walks onto the field. We sit in the bleachers.
"Well Skylar, I was wondering if you could help with practice today." Dion asks her. She blushes as Dillion's eyes land on her.
"I'd love to." She replies.
"Thank you very much, could you start by showing these boys how to properly slide?" Dion asks. She laughs and nods. She stands on third base and gets in her position. All the guys are staring at her as Dion throws the ball over a catcher's head and the catcher scrambles for the ball. She breaks for home and Dion rushes to the plate, waiting for the catcher to throw him the ball. She slides right under the tag. She pops up and wipes her hands on her pants.
