*Skylar's POV*

All the girls go off with their boyfriends or future boyfriends leaving Kendra, Dakota and I all alone. Kendra gives me a weak smile before splitting off as well. Dakota shortly follows, waving slightly. I stand there exposed to all the stares. I duck my head and hide my face. I bump into a hard chest and look up.

"I'm so sorry." I whisper quickly, my British accent peaking out in my voice.

"That's quite alright love." The man replies in a thick British accent.

"Kol?" I ask.

"Sky?" He asks in return. I turn and quickly try to leave the Mikaelson behind. I reach the dance floor as soon as a familiar waltz comes on. I start the waltz and Kol just happens to become my partner. "Skylar, hear me out." He pleads as we become closer.

"You have till we switch partners." I whisper, barely audible.

"Okay, so Katherine forced herself on me. I tried to get her off, but she said if I did, she'd hurt you so I went along with it." Kol rushes in a matter of seconds. I make sure no one's looking and kiss Kol lightly on the lips, pulling back before he can kiss back. He pouts as we switch partners. I land in Klaus's arms and grin at him. We make goofy faces at all of the other pairs. We finish our waltz, then walk to the huge foyer. The Mikaelsons' newly raised from the dead mother make a toast. We all drink the champagne. I taste a metallic flavor in mine and place mine on the tray in disgust. I walk outside and stand on the steps. I look over the beautiful moon encased scenery. I feel someone wrap their arms around me from behind. I look up to see Kol smiling down at me. I smile up at him. I think of Kendra and all her loneliness. I sigh and lean into Kol. "What's wrong love?" He asks.

"Just poor Kendra. Jeremy Gilbert is being a freaking asshole!" I let out. He chuckles.

"He really likes her." Kol assures me.

"But yesterday he told her that he loves Bonnie." I protest.

"We are all dumb. All of us guys I mean. We're just flat out stupid. We take forever to find the right person." Kol tells me. I nod.

"It takes some of you longer than others." I tease, referring to him being over a thousand year old.

"No it's just you weren't around when I needed you to be." Kol scoffs playfully.

"Sorry Kol." I shake my head with a smile.

"It's alright." He winks. Just then Jeremy Gilbert walks out.

"Jeremy Gilbert, do not move. Stand completely still." I shout at him. He stays still and waits for me. I walk over to him and Kol walks inside leaving us to talk. "Jer, what are you doing?" I ask him gently. He rips off his mask and we walk hand and hand to the bench in the garden.

"Honestly Sky, I don't know anymore." He whispers, looking down.

"What is your heart thinking?" I whisper, leaning my head on his shoulder.

"To pick Kendra." Jeremy tells me with complete honesty.

"Then pick her." I nudge him with my arm gently.

"But, I thought I loved Bonnie." He whimpers, clutching his head.

"It's always gonna be confusing Jer." I tell him, touching his cheek gingerly, wiping away his tears. "But it gets better. All you have to do is cut Bonnie loose. I think she's only holding on, because she thinks that you still love her. But Kendra is completely absorbed in you and only you. Jer, just think things over. We can meet up tomorrow and talk about this, okay?" I look into his eyes with a small smile.
