*Stefan’s POV*
Damon. That is the only person on my mind. Kenzi is trying to sooth a heartbroken Skylar as I try to calm down a frightened Lucy. I’ll never admit it aloud, but I always have known Skylar and Damon were closer growing up. Sure we’re best friends, but they are like fingers intertwined. Then there’s Lucy, she had fallen so hard for Damon and now that he’s changed I don’t know if she’s the same. The others are crying as well. Dakota and Elijah had disappeared a long while ago, but I know where they went. Elijah had told me.
“Luce, he’ll get better. I promise.” I whisper reassuringly to Lucy. She nods and crawls over to Skylar. They cry together and Kenzi walks over to me. She also breaks down. I stroke her hair soothingly. She holds tight to me.
“Stefan, I don’t know what I’d do if I lost you.” She sobs. It makes my heart break.
“Kenz, let’s get away for the weekend. Just you and me.” I plead.
“Will it help you?” She looks up into my eyes.
“Yes.” I nod. She kisses me on the lips lightly, causing tingles to shoot throughout my whole body. I kiss her forehead after she pulls away. She crawls over to the girls.
“Sky, Iz, Luce, Ken, listen I’m going away for the weekend and since Dakota’s not here either I need you to promise to take care of yourselves.” Kenzi looks at the girls.
“Of course.” Kendra manages.
“Mhm.” Izzy hums, from her place tucked away safely in Klaus’s arms.
“Y-Yes.” Lucy chokes.
“Y-You’re leaving me too?” Sky stammers.
“Just for a while, but I’ll come back.” Kenzi touches Sky’s cheek gingerly in a sisterly fashion.
“That’s what Peter said.” Skylar tells her, turning away. Kenzi nods at the girls and gets up, trying best to hide her tears.
“I love you Luce.” She tells Lucy.
“Love ya.” Lucy manages a smile.
“Love you Iz the Biz.” Kenzi manages a small giggle.
“Love ya too Kenz.” Izzy chokes out.
“I love you Ken.” She whispers to Kendra.
“Love you Kenny.” Kendra replies.
“I love you blue Sky.” Kenzi manages through small tears. Skylar turns around.
“I’m sorry Zi. I love you so much. Have fun and Stefan bring her back or I’ll drive a stake through your heart.” Skylar tells her jokingly and warns me.
“Yes ma’am!” I salute. She laughs with the other girls. I see Damon walk over and Lucy get up. Skylar follows her to her car. Damon looks hurt and I know he’s starting to come back slowly. Lucy doesn’t even give him a second glance, unlike Sky who can’t help it. He gives her a smile, causing her to go into overdrive and start sobbing. Lucy helps her in the car somehow without falling over herself. Kenzi pulls me away from the others and we get in my car. I drive us towards our secret destination and Jessica is constantly worrying about the girls and others. I chuckle and turn up the radio in the car. She grins and sings along to ‘Roar’ by: Katy Perry.
“I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath!” She begins in perfect harmony. I grin and see my phone ringing. I see its Sky. Her contact name comes up, ‘Sky is the Sexiest Beast Alive!’ I chuckle at this and pick up.
“Hello.” I answer.
“Oh hello there Stefy Wefy. I just wanted you to know I’ve got you’re little friends. Lucy, Kendra, Izzy, and oh…what do we have here? You’re little itsy bitsy cousin Skylar Jackson. It’d be a shame if she well slipped off the top of the Gilbert beach house.” Katherine giggles or is it Elena? I can never tell.
