*Elijah’s POV*

I watch Dakota start pacing. Kendra is desperately trying to calm her down and I don’t know what to do.

“What are we going to do? Damon, Kenzi, and Izzy have been missing for three months after they went looking for Sky and Luce. Kol and Stefan have gone ripper. Jeremy’s got the hunter’s mark and is freaking out. Klaus has gone into a shell and is making hybrids like cookies.” Dakota cries.

“We’re gonna be fine as long as we stick together we’ll be fine.” Kendra whispers soothingly. Dakota collapses onto the couch, grabbing a bottle of whiskey from Damon’s alcohol table and taking a long swig. I wrap an arm around her and she leans closer to me. I help her stand and lead her outside.

“Elijah, I’m scared.” Dakota whimpers.

“That’s why I want to ask you something very important.” I whisper.

“What is it?” She wipes away her tears.

“Will you Dakota Marie Hall, do me the honor of being my wife?” I get down on one knee and pop open the box. Dakota’s hands shoot up to her mouth.

“Oh Elijah…” She trails off. My heart rips in half.

“I see.” I start to stand.

“No Elijah it’s not that. Of course I’ll marry you; I just never expected this, so I’m shocked.” She reassures me. I slip the ring on her finger and kiss her gently on the lips. “Elijah can I ask you something else?” She whispers hopefully.

“Of course, anything, love.” I whisper to her.

“Will you turn me after our wedding? So we can be together?” She looks up at me.

“Of course, I was planning on asking you that next.” I blush slightly. She pecks my cheek.

“I love you Elijah.” She smiles widely.

“I love you more Dakota.” I smile back proudly. Finally I can rightfully call her mine. We start the preparations. Dakota even sends out an invitation to everyone that disappeared, hoping they’ll come. A few weeks later, we are getting ready for Dakota to go get her dress.

“Are you ready Kota?” Rebekah calls in.

“Almost.” She returns, grabbing her bag. She pecks my lips. “I’ll come home safe.” She reassures me.

“I know you will. Rebekah will care for you.” I grin and release her from my arms. I remember how I put my blood in her system this morning as we had decided for her to turn before the wedding. She waves at the door and leaves. I sit down and open a book. A few hours later, my phone starts ringing frantically. “Hello?” I answer cautiously.

“Hello, is this Mr. Elijah Mikaelson?” The voice questions.

“Yes it is. Why?” I ask.

“Your fiancée Miss Dakota Hall has been in a severe car accident along with your younger sister, Rebekah Mikaelson. Can you please come to Mystic Fall’s Hospital as soon as you can?” The voice asks.

“I’m on my way.” I wipe at the tears on my face. I get in my car and drive quickly to the hospital. I get there and quickly enter.

“Mr. Mikaelson?” The lady at the desk asks.

“Yes.” I answer.

“Room 129.” She looks at me sadly and I race to that room, entering quickly. I see Dakota’s chest stop rising and falling, then start again.

“What is going on?” The doctors ask each other. I look them all in the eyes.

“You are going to forget this happened and you used CPR to bring her back. Understood?” I compel them.
