Chelsee's POV
I turned over in my bed and stretched. The sun started shining through my windows and I looked over at my clock. It was already nine. Whoa I don't think I've slept in this long ever. I sat up and slipped my slippers on. I grabbed my robe and headed out to the hallway. All the kids doors were open. Shoot, they are never up before me. I headed downstairs and could hear something coming from the kitchen and laughter. I peered in and saw the kids cooking with Clint. I leaned up against the door frame and watched for a moment.
"Aunt Chelsee loves crepes. So she'll love this." I watched as the kids set the table and Chloee helped Clint with the crepe maker.
"Should we cut some bananas to put inside?" Clint asked the kids. Both Declan and Skylar answered at the same time.
"No." I had to put my hand over my mouth not to laugh.
"She hates bananas. It's safe to stay with the strawberries and blueberries." Clint nodded to Skylar as she finished with the whip cream and brought the berries to the table. I watched for a few moments more as they all helped each other. It was rather sweet to watch. I decided now I would make my presence known.
"What are you all up too?" I said as I walked in fully and they all turned to me. "Smells great in here."
"We made you breakfast." Declan said and they all smiled at me.
"That's really sweet of you guys." I walked in further and leaned over the counter to see their work.
"Here come have a seat aunt Chelsee." Declan pulled out a chair for me and I went to sit down. "You don't worry about a thing. We got this?" He went back and grabbed the juice and sat it on the table. They all came and sat down. Clint brought over the plate of crepes and sat down next to me.
"Guys this looks amazing. Thanks so much." I smiled as the kids faces beamed at me.
"Clint had the idea." Skylar said. I looked over at him and he winked at me.
"Well, eat up. The kids said this was your favorite. So I hope you enjoy." He passed the plate over to me and I helped myself. You don't have to tell me twice.
We all ate are filling and enjoyed talking with one an other. It tasted amazing. The kids said they would clean up and sent us to go get dressed. I just finished getting fully dressed and then headed down to Clint's room to see if he was ready to go home. I looked in and didn't see him. I was about to leave when he came walking out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel. He was drying his hair and I watched as water dripped all the way down his chest until it reached the edge of the towel.
"Clint." He looked up quickly and met eyes with me. "I'll be downstairs. I can drive you back when your done." He smiled and held his towel clothes to his waist. He nodded and I left. Holy cow that man looks like a greek statue. I walked down the stairs and told the kids I'd be taking Clint home and then went to watch a movie in the den. I got some snacks out on the counter for them and then headed to the stairs as I heard Clint walking down the stairs. I met him at the bottom of the stairs and handed him his coat. "All set?" He nodded as he put his coat on.
"Yeah I should be." I opened the door and he followed me out.
"So when is your mom going to be here?" He paused mid step and then kept walking to the jeep.
"I don't know. She didn't really tell." I nodded and got. I turned the engine on and we headed out of the driveway. I turned the radio on so it was just playing softly in the back ground.
"Thanks again for breakfast this morning. I've never had that before." He smiled over at me and placed his hand on my thigh.
"I'm glad you liked it. I'm also glad they told me you don't like bananas. That could have gone horribly wrong." We both laughed as I turned down the road to his house. We fell into a comfortable silence and were in the drive way in no time. I put the car in park and notice he was staring at a black car that was parked next to his truck. "Oh man, She's already here." He almost looked scared.
"Well I better let you go and talk with her then. I've got to go and finish some things at the office. Let me know how it goes." I gave him a kiss on the cheek and he slowly got out of the car. "Clint relax, it's just your mom. Don't freak yourself out."
"Ok ok, I'll call you later ok." I nodded and he slowly shut the door and turned even slower towards the house. Good grief what's gotten into him. I started to pull out and he ran at my car and came to my side door. He flung my door open and held onto my leg. "Wait please don't go. Come in for a while."
"Clint the kids are at home." He gave me a pleading look.
"Please?" He bit his bottom look and he still waited there with his pleading eyes.
"Ok, but I won't be able to stay long. I've gotta get back." I put my car in park and turned the engine off. I quickly got my seatbelt off and stepped out. "Are you okay? Your worrying Clint." He nodded and pulled me into a hug. His arms were around my waist and he put his head into my neck.
"I'm not ready to do this on my own." I hugged him back and rubbed the back of his head.
"Well I'm here. You don't need to." He nodded and sat up.
"Ok, come with me." I nodded and he took my hand. He pulled me towards the house. I now feel like every step we take towards the house I get more and more nervous. We walked up the stairs and he opened up the door. I could hear talking coming from a few rooms down and Clint pulled me along side of him. We came around the corner and we saw Clint's grandfather sitting at the table with a slender dark haired woman.
"Awww Chelsee." He stood up from the table and she turned and looked my way. "It's so good to see you again." He came and gave me a hug and pulled away.
"It's good to see you too." I smiled at him and looked back over at Clint's mom. Who was fully looking me up and down with no shame at all.
"Hello mom." Clint walked over to her and she stood as he neared. They both hugged and she kissed his cheek.
"Honey you need to shave this. You look like a mountain man." She smiled brightly up at him. Clint rolled his eyes and turned back towards me.
"Mom, I'd like you to meet my girlfriend Chelsee. Chelsee this is my mother. Diana." I stepped forward and put my hand out to shake hers.
"It's nice meeting you Mrs. Hamilton. Clint has told me a lot about you." She shook my hand lightly and looked at me in surprise.
"That's strange he'd be talking about me. I hear nothing about you. Although my son hasn't talked to me in months." She swatted at his arm and he came over to me. His arm swing around my waist and she watched every movement. "How did you two meet Clinton?" He rolled his eyes at the full mention of his name. He told me his mom only used it when she was trying to sound snooty.
"Through school mom." She gave him a disapproving look.
"Aww she's a teacher." I now get what Clint was saying, when he said his parents didn't like his career choice.
"No mom she isn't. She's actually a business woman. Her niece is in one of my classes and I met her through that." She nodded and turned towards me.
"Don't you think it's a bad idea to be dating one of your niece's teachers. I mean, people can make up such horrible rumors." I shook my head.
"No not really." I saw Clint smiled to the side of me. "To be perfectly honest people around town know me. They also know not to make rumors of me. So I really don't have a care for it." I turned to Clint and kissed him quickly. "I've gotta go check on the kids. I'll talk to you later."
"You have kids?" Before I turned to leave I nodded.
"Yes, I do." I went to walk away and Clint pulled me back towards him and kissed me once more.
"I might be coming to see you later." I laughed and he pecked me on the lips again.
"Alright." I pushed away and called over my shoulder. "Maybe bring your mom to the restaurant tomorrow Clint." I have a feeling this woman is going to give me a hard time.
