Clint's POV
I hardly slept at all last night. All I could think about was what Brad did at the hotel. Completely destroyed? Seriously dude, did you not get your kicks off enough by breaking her heart? Now you have to keep ruining things for her. I would drift to sleep every so often but, then I'd wake up. I finally got out of bed at 5 because there was no use. Also I didn't want to wake up Chelsee. She's been stressed enough and needs all the sleep she can get. I pulled the covers up over her and then went to grab a shirt from the closet. I was in the kitchen when Declan came downstairs.
"What are you doing up so early bud?" I asked as he rubbed his eyes.
"This is what time I wake up every morning to work out. I've been doing it for so long its hard to sleep in now." I nodded. I know the feeling.
"Well I was gonna run to the store really quick and get some things for breakfast. You wanna come?" He smiled and nodded.
"I'll grab my shoes and coat." He went to the door with me and we both grabbed our coats and slipped our shoes on.
"You know what I better leave a note in case your aunt wakes up." I grabbed a notepad from the table and scribbled where we'd be and left it on the kitchen counter. We headed out the door quietly and then towards the elevators.
"Why are you awake so early?" He asked with a knowing smile. I forget teenagers are knowledgable about all this 'adult' activity nowadays.
"I couldn't sleep for some reason." He just nodded and folded his arms. The elevator dinged and the doors opened. As we walked into the parking garage I clicked the unlock button.
"So how do you like living here?" Declan asked as we got into the car. "It's a really cool place."
"It's alright, I love the hockey. I just wish I could be with you guys and my family more." I started the car and shrugged over at him.
"Aunt Chelsee's really missed you." For a 16 year old to notice something that surprised me. "But she loves watching you have fun. That's why she plays it off all cool like." I chuckled as he just kept laying out Chelsee's every move. She'd kill him if she knew.
"I'm surprised you've noticed all that." I said with a laugh.
"You know. Guys always say how hard it is to read women. Psh I could do it in my sleep." He said nonchalantly.
"I'll remember that when a girl you fancy snatches you up." He laughed and shook his head.
"I plan on staying away from girls for a while. I want to get set in my hockey career before I do any of that." He said with a gesture of his hand. "Having Aunt Chelsee worried about me being far away will be hard enough." I looked over at him as he just stared out the window.
"So you plan going away for college?" I asked carefully. I didn't want him to think I was sticking my nose where it doesn't belong.
"Yeah." He nodded slowly. "I have a few colleges with their eye on me right now. I'm just not sure which one I want to go with." He put his hands together as I pulled into the store parking lot. "She nearly broke when I told her I was thinking about Boston University. She acted excited for me but, I know it's killing her inside."
"I'm sure it is Declan. That's a lot to take in for someone that's taking care of you and loves you so much." He just nodded and then got out of the car with me. I put my arm over his shoulder and gave him a side hug. Hopefully this isn't to much. "You know what though. I know your aunt. If it made you happy she'd let you go to Antarctica if you wanted too." He laughed as I patted his shoulder then released him.
"Thanks for making me feel better about it Clint. It means a lot." I smiled down at him as we entered the store.
"Anytime Declan. Also you still have a while before that stuff comes. Enjoy all the time you have with her." He nodded and I grabbed a shopping cart. "Well lets see what we can find here." We both looked around and Declan suggested pancakes and bacon. I nearly cried for myself because I wouldn't be able to have any of that. I nodded trying to force a smile. I also bought fruit for myself along with more eggs. We got some fruit juice and then stuff to make hot chocolate. We were checking out as I watched most of what we had going into the bags that I wasn't going to eat. It came to the point I started blaming Brad for my diet on the way back to the apartment. Declan helped grab some of the bags and we headed back upstairs. When we got back in to the apartment everything was still quiet. So Declan helped me get stuff ready and also helped me cook the bacon. I didn't trust myself. I was going to make fruit smoothies for Chelsee and I but, I thought I'd better go shut the door to the room so I didn't wake her.
"I'll go shut you bedroom door." Declan said as if reading my mind. He then walked into the room and didn't come back out for a minute. I hope I didn't leave anything out in there he shouldn't see. He came out and saw me staring at the door. "I turned her alarm off." He rolled his eyes then. "She's on vacation and still sets a freaking alarm." I laughed as I started the blender. These kids know her to well. Skylar had Chloee wrapped around her when they came down just as we finished.
"That smells really good." Skylar said as she came to the counter. "I need my meds but, is aunt Chelsee up?" I shook my head.
"I'll grab them. Which ones are they?"
"The tiny white ones." I nodded and had the kids sit at the table and start as I went to grab them. I opened the door and just quickly went to the bathroom to look in her bag. Her small bag was still on the counter and I checked inside to see if they were there. As luck would have it they were. I looked at both the bottles and then got the small white pill out. I quietly put it all the way and then headed back to the door. She was still asleep so I decided to keep the door shut.
"I'm gonna let your aunt get some more sleep." They all nodded and ate in silence. I handed Skylar her pill and she took it quickly then returned to eating. "Were you guys able to sleep alright with the city noise?" I asked.
"My pills knock me out. So I didn't hear a thing." Skylar said as she took a giant bite of pancake.
"I couldn't hear anything. So I guess pretty good." I nodded to Declan and drank my protein smoothie. "Dude why aren't you eating any of this?" Declan asked me and pointed to the food with his fork.
"Since I have to be in good shape. The team dietician put me on a diet." Declan nodded but, Skylar looked at me like I was crazy.
"You had like no fat on you. Why the heck did they put you on a diet? Gah, that is ridiculous." She said with an eyeroll. I just laughed but, Declan then popped in.
"Actually if he wants to keep up with the other guys it's a pretty good idea. Keeps his stamina up." She looked over at him annoyed.
"Then why aren't you on a diet?" She gave him a matter of fact look. I just smiled as they bickered.
"My stamina is better than his. I could eat an elephant and still skate faster." Shock was clearly plastered on my face.
"You wanna bet?" I said and sat up in my chair. He smiled smugly as he shoved a piece of bacon in his mouth.
"You're on old man." I playfully glared at him.
"Ok, cause we're going to the rink today. So prepare yourself." He just gave me the thumbs up as he stuffed more food in his mouth. Skylar stared at him in disgust.
"I don't think Aunt Chelsee has ever slept in this late. I wonder if she's ok." Skylar said worriedly and looked over at the bedroom door.
"I'll check go check on her. Just put your dishes in the dish washer when your done. The tv room is all yours for a while." I said and pointed over to the tv room at the other end of the apartment. I walked to the room as they started picking up the plates. I knew full well the table was going to be gleamingly clean when I came back out. I opened the door quietly and stepped in. Chelsee hadn't moved from where I left her earlier. I looked at the clock as saw that it was almost 9. That's definitely not normal for her. I sat on the edge of the bed and stared down at her for a moment. She looked absolutely radiant. I don't think I've ever seen her this peaceful. Which actually kind of made me sad. I should see her like this all the time. I could here the kids running and obviously arguing on what they were going to watch. I chuckled softly and then got in next to her. As if knowing I was there her body shifted closer to mine. I started to rub the side of her face and then softly kiss her fore head. A I was rewarded by a soft sigh and then she slowly opened her eyes. "Hello Gorgeous." She smiled at me and then snuggled into my chest.
"Hi." She took a deep breath and then wrapped her arms around my waist. Geez, I should come wake her up more often if this is what I get. "What time is it?"
"Almost 9." She froze for a second and then shot up.
"The kids are probably awake." I grabbed her arm as she tried to getting out and pulled her back under the blankets. I sat up and hovered over her. "Clint move I gotta go check on the kids." She failed trying to push me off her. I kissed her slowly and then looked down at her.
"They're already awake and had breakfast. They're just watching cartoons or something now. Relax babe." She looked as if she didn't believe me.
"Are you serious?" I nodded down at her and then went back to kissing her. I kissed down her jaw line and to her neck as she continued talking. "You got them all fed?" I nodded as I moved over to the other side of her jaw line. "Oh Skylar's meds." I grabbed her hands and placed them to the side of her head.
"It's all done. Now be quiet and relax." I said into her neck and I could feel she was smiling now. "Declan shut your alarm off." I then laughed a little and then looked up at her. "He was pretty annoyed you set your alarm while you were on vacaction." She rolled her eyes and it literally looked just like him. "I now know where he gets that eye roll." She chuckled and then leaned up to kiss me.
"I freaking love you. You know that?" It made me smile and she just looked at me with appreciation.
"I wouldn't know. You've hardly touched me this morning." She tried pulling her hands from mine but, I wouldn't let them go.
"Ugh these new muscles of yours are going to be a problem." I just laughed and then I was immediately flipped onto my back. I was dazed as she chuckled above me. "I think they're good problem though. To bad their all covered up." She said as she drug one of her fingers down my chest. Good lord this woman sexy as hell.
"Well, I didn't want to freak the kids out." I said nervously. She motioned for me to sit up. I did as was asked and then her hands reached for the hem of my shirt. Well hell, someone's pretty bold in the mornings. In one slow movement she had it off me and then chucked it to the side of the bed.
"There aren't any kids in here." I took this new found boldness and wrapped my arms around her. I pulled her body into my chest as close as I could. She started kissing me and had her hands wrapped up in my hair. Oh man, how far was she going to let this go. My hands went to her thighs and then I slowly rubbed my way up under my shirt to her waist. She's always so self conscious and never lets me do this. My hand moved upward and I hit my target. She didn't grab my hand to stop or anything. Before I new it I had the shirt off her and I flipped her back onto the bed. I was kissing down her neck and almost reached her stomach when I heard her. "Clint." She said breathlessly.
"Yeah." My mind was frenzying and couldn't decide whether to look up or continue on.
"As much as I'm loving every moment of this. We should probably stop. I don't want the kids to hear anything." I stopped and placed my fore head on her stomach. She rubbed the back of my head softly. I grabbed her hand and held it still.
"If you want me to stop. You can't touch me like that right now." I forced out. She softly chuckled as I moved off her and laid down onto the bed.
"We should probably get dressed." I put my arm over my eyes as I watched her stand up. Watching her walk around the bed in those blue lacy underwear nearly killed me.
"I'm gonna need to uh lay here for a moment." She giggled as she walked into the bathroom. I'm definitely not heading out to the kitchen right now. That wouldn't be awkward at all. I could hear her getting ready in the bathroom and decided a shower was the only thing that was going to help me at this point. I got up and walked into the shower and she only had her shirt on still. I closed my eyes and felt my way to the shower.
"Are you ok?" I nodded.
"I'm just having an issue seeing all this skin. I can't control my self at the moment." She chuckled as I started the water and then got undressed. I felt a hand on my shoulder and then a soft kiss on the other. I groaned as she pulled away. "Chelsee if you don't want your niece's and nephew to here their aunts boyfriend ravage the hell out of her. You have to stop." She started to laugh and I looked back to see her put her pants on. Thank goodness.
"That's a pretty sexy butt you have there." She said, I turned and gave her a serious look. She then waved and ran out the bathroom. That woman is going to be the death of me.
