aah. Its been such a long time since i've sat in my chair and wrote a chapter of this book (like 4evr!!!!). hearing the clacking of the keys again is more than I could ever hope for... :)

soooooo!!! I was reading a book about mermaids so I could find some ideas and came across this: Someone was singing. I listened, being wrapped up by the most beautiful and haunting voice I've ever heard.

That wasnt the original words cuz I dont wanna be accused of plagerism or whatever, but you get my point...

DUH!!!! Mermaids SING!!!!! I totally forgot about that!!

So I decided to slap myself with a book and do that over and over again until it hurt (smart right?). I cant believe I forgot! So this chapter will include Dinner in Darkvil (such a creative name, right?) and SINGING!! Lots and lots of singing...hehe >:-(

Walking on the old Esmeralda III was a 10 year old girl named Asia and her dog Marx. Her father was the captain of this ship and had wanted to show her mother and her the wonders of the sea, so he brought them along with a good crew on his next trip.

Asia didn't understand why her dad wanted to use the Esmeralda III or why he had brought a crew. It's 2011, hello people! That's what cruise ships are for!

"Arf!" Marx jumped up on Asia.

"hey, what is it, boy?"

"Arf! Arf!"

What the heck is happening to my dog? is he on steroids or something? Maybe he accidentally took my mom's pills this morning...

That's when she heard it. A chorus of voices were singing. It was beautiful, the most luxurious and sad melody she had ever heard. but there was an edge to it that didn't seem right.

Caught in a trance, Asia didn't realize that all of the crew members had come on deck. and as soon as they heard the melancholy song, they practically swooned over the imaginary sirens that were swimming around them. It wasn't until Marx nudged her, that Asia figured out what was going on.

Asia looked around her. The once dazzling dream had quickly turned into a haunting nightmare. Some men were jumping off of the ship to be with "the one they loved" while others were smooching on fish. The women just stood there in a daze, like Asia had seconds before them.

Asia had been a big fan of mermaids since she could remember. She had loved the stories as a little kid and would occasionally still pick up a book about them. Asia was technically an expert on them, but until now, she didn't know she would actually need those skills for a life/death situation.

"A song of the sirens!" Asia gasped. "Everyone, cover your ears!" she said as if the crew members could still hear her.

Her and Marx ran up to the women and woke them up. Then she told them to help the men cover their ears and wake the other women.

Sirens are spirits within mermaids that come out when they sing. They wrap their thoughts around the mermaids soul and bring out the hatred. But the mermaids aren't possessed. They just like the sound of their own voice. It's almost impossible to bring out a siren once it's been in your soul for a long time. Some humans have them too, believe it or not.

"But it cant be!" Asia ran around looking for her mom. "Mermaids don't exist!" She finally found her lying on the deck floor, having some sort of seizure. "Mom!"

Asia rushed to her side as a siren swam through the air and guarded her mother. Asia tried to push past the woman, but water is stronger than it looks.
