I peeked from the top of my bottle. Kanna was asleep. Slowly and quietly, I got out, this time folding my tailfin so i could make it out without a sound.

For about five seconds, I floated above my bottle, making sure no one else was in the room.

"I hope she's a deep sleeper," I whispered, referring to Kanna.

Then I swam downwards towards the table in the middle. Why didn't this place have a kitchen?

The Book of Thoughts Kanna gave me before was in my hands. I opened it to the first page, remembering Kanna said there was some written stuff in there.

First page was my name: Brooklyn. I turned to the second page. There was nothing.

Third page nothing.

Fourth page. Nothing.

For about an hour, I looked at each and every page individually. There was nothing. The only thing I saw was my name on the first page.

"There has to be something else!"

"There is."

I looked up from the book and saw Kanna. She was holding some seaweed and a cool little light device.

"What are you doing up?" I grumbled.

"I was about to ask you the same thing."

"Well I'm obviously trying to discover my past. What about you?"

I swear if Liz sneered at me one more time, I would strangle her. What was up with her?! I know she lost her memory, but still! Before, it wasn't like this!

Anyways, a couple days ago, when I was released from my bottle, i found her Book of Thoughts along with some seaweed and what I've come to know as a flashlight. They're pretty cool! I can't wait to show Nemo!

I already knew everything. Her Book of Thoughts had everything from our past lives in it, including the part where her and i were best friends. I knew there were humans in a tunnel underneath us so I had memorized the breathing spell she had jotted in her notes.

There was so much I still had left to learn, including who these two lovers were, who Otto and Nemo (supposedly my best friends in a past life) were, and who a little girl named Asia was.

I had explained as much as I could to the little girl "Brook" until she started sneering. So I made sure not to include how to read the book just yet. I'm sure she could have figured it out, but she was so damn stubborn, she probably wouldn't even think about doing that.

The shrill cry of the morning bell interrupted my thoughts. I grabbed Liz by the wrist, not even acknowledging her protests.

"Time for breakfast. Don't want to be late!" Together we worked our way through the maze of the town until we got to Floor 1. The big doors to the room opened. "This is the Food Room," I explained. "Everyone eats together."

"Hey Kanna!"

"What's up Kanna?!"

"Kanna sit with us!"

I shook my head politely and did a little wave. "No thanks. I have to show my friend around."

A chorus of "awww"'s came from the right. I kept on swimming until I spotted Sam. "Hey what's up Kanna?" He greeted. His orange tail was swarming with Darkeness. In fact, everyone's was.
