Angie's P.O.V.)
"Angie! It's like this every morning!" Charlett moaned. "Wake up! Mrs. Bonds has someone over for you!"
My eyes snapped open. "Who?"
"I don't know. Some girl from your ballet class."
I groaned internally and crawled underneath my blanket. Abby. What did she want now? "Tell Abby to get the hell away from me!"
"Her name's not Abby. She said it was Cam."
I was immediately up again. "Cameron?"
I thought back to my last rehearsal. She had really helped me out. But as far as I was concerned, she was still with Abby. It hadn't seemed like it though.
Charlett confirmed it with a nod. I slowly found myself nodding as well. "Okay tell her to come in."
My best friend shook her head. "You know Mrs. Bonds wouldn't like that."
Oh gosh. Charlett was such a goodie two shoes...all the same she stuck by my side. And that's how I liked it.
"Charlett you're killing me here!"
She gasped and immediately stepped back. I gave a loud laugh.
"I didn't mean it literally sheesh!" I laughed again and threw my pillow at her head.
She dodged the pillow and smiled. "Well I wouldn't want to hurt my best friend." Then she proceeded to drag me out of bed. "Now get your butt up so we can go! Like now!"
I grumbled and followed her out of the bedroom.
"Oh there you are," Mrs. Bonds fussed. "Now where have you been?!"
"I was having a good dream!" I whined.
The woman sighed. "Well anyways Cameron Beaufortte wanted to talk to you. She's from the ballet class you're taking I believe."
"Yes ma'am," Cameron said. I hadn't even seen her there. She was wearing a chic purple shirt with some skinnies and black flats. "Actually," she began, "would it be okay if my family took Angie to the beach?"
Mrs. Bonds' eyes sparkled. "That is definitely okay!" She then turned to me and asked, "Right?"
I nodded. The only times I ever got out was on orphan field trips and ballet class.
"Okay let's go then." Cam held out her hand for me. I was very hesitant. My hand moved as slow as a turtle, but eventually clasped together with hers. Then she led me out.
My eyes almost bulged out when I laid eyes on the sleek black Mustang parked in front of my home.
"Wow..." I uttered in pure amazement. I had always wanted a mustang. It was my one and only dream car.
"Yeah it's a beauty. And it's new too!" Cam chirped. "I've always had a thing for Mustangs..." I only smiled in reply. She then tugged me along. "Come on, get in!"
I let her grip on my hand tighten as she guided me toward the car. I took one last look at the orphanage. "See you later," I whispered.
I ended up sitting on the right side. Cam's little sister was in the middle and Cam herself was seated on the left.
"Plop!" the little girl said as she dropped some of her ABC cubes.
Cam groaned. "Rachel!"
I reached under the seat to where they had fallen. "It's okay. I got them." As I gathered up the T, R and A, I noticed Rachel's cute black buckle shoes. She had on a frilly white dress with pink and yellow flowers on it.
