Meet and Greet
Chapter 7
I could hear a knock on the door through the cruncing of chips in my mouth. Awe crap. I can't get ithe door looking like this. I have a mouth full of food and my hands are all greasy. Shoot. I look around to everyone around me. Everyone is either eating or on their phones except for Harry who is just sitting there staring at a wall. I think he left his phone at his house. Hah loser.
"Harry go get the door, I'm stuffing my face!" I yelled.
"Don't get your panties in a twist. I'm coming." He yelled back.
"You two are like an old married couple." Mackenzie said.
"Be quiet. As if I would even go out with Harry. I shutter at the thought." I muttered.
"That hurts." Harry said, putting his hand over his heart as he was walking towards the door. As soon as Harry opened the door, I could hear Max's voice eco through the hallway.
"Who the heck are you?" Max stammered.
"I'm the internationally famous Harry Styles." Harry exclaimed."And who are you?" Shoot. I need to go straighten this out. I swallowed everything in my mouth, washed my hands, and then ran over to the door.
"Hey Max!" I said. His frowned turned into a smile when he looked at me. I smiled back. Max does have a nice smile. His teeth are perfect. He went from being a total nerdy geek with braces in middle school, to being one of the high school jocks. He's always been my best friend, even before Mackenzie. We always walk in the hallways together- with Tom and Mackenzie of course- and if someone bumps into me in the hallway, Max always gets up in their face and makes them apologize to me. It's actually kind of funny. Tom always does the same thing for Mackenzie."Max, this is Harry, Harry this is Max. These are the guys that moved in down the street from us." I said while walking them into the family room. "They are also international popstars." I said only into Max's ear.
Max wasn't too happy to see them. "Why are they here?" He asked, clearly annoyed.
"Mackenzie and I have been hanging out with them and they're really nice. Please just give them a chance."
"Fine. But if I get annoyed, I'm leaving."
"Okay, I don't care, I just want you to meet them." I said only loud enough so he could hear me. As soon as Max fully walked into the family room, he tried to walk right back out. I stopped him by putting my hand on his chest and he looked me directly in the eyes and I could read his thoughts with no problem. It read: Seriously? There's 5 of them?
"Oh my god, just go talk with them." I whispered. He cautiously walked over to the couch to sit down. I could over hear their conversation while I waited in the kitchen for Tom to get here. About 5 minutes later, Tom showed up and did the same routine as Max except I answered the door and Tom already knew who the boys were, and obviously, he wasn't a fan.
Once I had ordered pizza for dinner, I sat down on the sofa to join the boys and Mackenzie. Louis was telling a story about one of their concerts. Apparently a very, very dedicated fan pushed by the security (she was a little on the fatter side according to Niall) and ran onto the stage and started kissing Zayn. I was laughing out loud and Zayn was trying to hide his blush. He seemed embarrassed that girls love him. Is it just me, or is he showing signs of normality? Weird.
After Louis was finished telling his story and all of our laughter died down, we kind of fell into an awkward silence. I was about to pull out my phone when Liam started talking.
"So, uh, Emily! Uh, how do you know Max and Tom?" He asked. I was kinda taken by surprise. I didn't know he would pick me to talk to! I guess I should carry on the conversation.
"I've known Max for as long as I can remember and Tom and I were in the same Kindergarten class so I guess we just bonded in class and became good friends. And Mackenzie and I were in Pre-K together and we have all been best friends for a really long time." I exclaimed. I kinda over explained that a little.
"Cool! You all seem very comfortable together. I wish I had that with my lads back home." Liam replied with a laugh. After that, the boys started asking questions to each other and it kinda turned into a little game. Mackenzie and I were a little left out but I guess it was a good thing because the boys had a good bonding session.
Hold up. Why should I care that all the boys like each other? What if they hated each other? Even though I think Max is still a little unsure about the British boys, they did get along tonight, right? I hope Max comes to like Harry. He is really sweet and nice and caring and handso- what am I saying? I just like both of these boys as friends and that's all there is. Or is there? Ugh, I have a serious problem.
