Nyctalgia's POV
My back smacked against something hard and when I finally stopped skidding on the ground I groaned and rolled onto my stomach in pain.
"Well that's definitely gonna leave a mark..ugh.."
I sat up slowly and looked around confused, "Where the fuck am I?"
I was in a kind of forest on the edge of a road that led to a big city that looked nothing like MY city I just came from. I heard a twig snap and I turned quickly in the direction it came from. I got to my feet quickly and turned in circles as the noise got closer and sounded like it was coming from multiple directions. Suddenly something jumped out at me out of the bushes and I yelped. It roared and lunged at me. I dropped to the ground and it flew over head and skidded to a halt not to far off. It looked kinda like a big lion but it also looked like the giant beast from Avatar that chased after make in the forest, except meaner, scarier, and creepier. So pretty much it was a big black lion, with yellow eyes, six legs, and the antenna things coming out of its mane.
"What the fuck are you?!"
I got up and ran into the forest away from it.
"Bad idea, bad idea, bad idea!"
It chased after me and roared as it barreled after me at full speed. I twisted left and right dodging trees, bushes, and other stupid things in the forest trying to lose the stupid thing. Until I turned right around a bolder and I was cornered in a small stone wall that was to slick to climb.
"Shit!"
It roared again an I turned around and it stood before me pawing the ground ready to lunge again.
'Wait, I have wings why am I not flying away?'
My wings erupted from my back and I flapped them pushing the beast backward a little roaring once again. I stood there for a moment as it walked back and forth in the only opening waiting for me to make a move. Then I got an idea.
I snapped, "Genius."
My skin rippled and I turned into a griffin, hey it was the same size as the bloody beast and I needed help fighting at the moment. It roared again and this time I roared back. It lunged and I caught it halfway through and pinned it to the ground. It scratched at my stomach and bit at my paws making me growl.
The beast and I tumbled across the grass clawing at each other seeing which one could take the other down faster. I grabbed it's throat with my teeth and bit down hard until I tasted blood. It roared in pain and squirmed in my grasp. I bit harder and it went limp like a rag doll, he wasn't dead though, I'm pretty sure he was giving up. I released him and he got up and ran away from me a couple feet. I feel to my knees and changed back to normal with my wings ruffled and bloody, scratches and bruises covered most of my skin as I wheezed and looked at the thing. Somehow there wasn't a scratch left on it. Then I saw one big scratch on his face close up and I stared in amazement. Then it did something I didn't think it would do, it bowed it head then waited like it wanted a reply. I bowed my head unsure and I walked up to me. I didn't move as I got closer until he stood just inches from me. I lifted my hand and it sniffed at it. It turned and leaned onto my hand with its side.
I moved my hand slowly up and down its flank and it purred slightly then turned his head into my palm.
I smiled and wheezed, "Your a funny creature making me fight you and then your nice to me..."
I coughed and spat blood onto the grass. I groaned and fell to the ground in a heap coughing and wheezing. I started shivering from the cool wind and it looked at me curiously. Then suddenly it got up on two feet and roared so loud I thought my ears would pop. When it stopped it walked closer to me and laid down, then he grabbed my arm gently in his mouth and carefully pulled me next to him. He was warm so I didn't complain I curled in a ball trying to absorb as much heat from it as possible. Then I started crying. I wanted my brother, I wanted Lucid, but he was to far for me to reach at the moment. After about 15 minutes I started getting tired, and my eyes were starting to droop.
And just before I fell asleep a man in a light brown cloak ran towards us.
He swooped down and held me in his arms, "What's your name son?"
I could barely hear let alone speak, but I forced out an answer before everything went dark.
"Nyctalgia..."
A couple hours later...
I felt a hot breath blow on my face and I turned my head away but didn't open my eyes. Something whined and pushed there nose on my shoulder.
"Five more minutes..."
"You've already had five hours."
I opened my eyes and looked up confused, "Huh?"
I looked to my right and saw the beast from before, I smiled as he shoved his head under my bandaged arm.
"Well hi there. What's your name?"
It made a small noise and I rubbed the top of its head, "Ender? That's a nice name."
Ender whined happily and rested his head on my lap. I looked up and saw the guy who spoke. He had long gray hair like mine, if not longer, bright yellow eyes, not like mine, and his skin was pale but in a good way not in a sickly way.
His hair was pulled back into a messy high ponytail at the moment, probably because he just finished dressing my wounds cause his hands were bloody and he was rinsing them off.
"Are you the guy who I saw before I blacked out?"
He turned and leaned against the counter as he dried his hands off.
He smiled kindly, "I am."
I turned and placed my feet on the floor, "And what's your name?"
He chuckled and grabbed my arm to help me up, "My name is Rei, I'm a Jedi master."
I thought for a moment.
'Jedi. Disney bought Star Wars thousands of years ago. Now their real. If Lucid was here we would be freaking out because we love Star Wars.'
"Jedi? Meaning the JEDI."
He nodded and raised and eyebrow at me, "Your a Star Wars fan aren't you?"
I nodded and smiled at the ground stupidly, "Yep."
He chuckled, "I figured cause your eyes light up after I said that."
"Can you actually use the force?"
He nodded.
"Can I see?"
I smiled sheepishly and he looked at me calmly. Then he made total eye contact with me and his face relaxes.
"Tell me your full name and where your from and how you got here."
I wasn't going to answer when he asked, but suddenly I felt like I couldn't control my movement or what I said.
I tried to resist but the pressure on my head only worsened.
I ground my teeth and bit my tongue so that I wouldn't be forced to answer.
"You like to resist don't you? You think that if you keep smiling and laughing that you'll escape the pain you are forced to suffer. I see the place of solitude you have in your head. I can see the castle."
I glared up at him my face covered in sweat, "Get out of my head..."
He raised his brow, "Then answer my questions."
I shook my head, "I won't be forced to answer anything. You don't control me, you don't tell me what to do."
I felt something from inside me push back and he looked at me with eyes widened.
I breathed heavy and looked at him confused, "What?"
"What did you do?"
I shrugged and shook my head, "I don't know. You were pushing on me so I pushed back, except harder."
He nodded, "You have a strong bond with power. And in this world it seems the force has taken a liking to you."
I frowned, "Huh?"
He stepped closer and placed his hands on my shoulders, "Kid I'm trying to say the force is strong in you. I would've thought a Star Wars fan would've caught up on that."
He smirked and I rolled my eyes, "Well when my brain hurts after that experience I don't wanna think about shit."
He stood and cuffed me on the back of the head like a bear.
"Ow!"
"Watch your language."
I growled and rubbed the back of my head.
"Now if you'll stop being a little butt head..."
"Jedi's say butt head?"
He glared at me, "...fine I won't say anything to you."
I grabbed his arm, "Okay I'm sorry!"
He chuckled, "I've been looking for a padawan for awhile now..."
My eyes widened but I stayed quiet.
"...and your not trained so would you like to learn the ways of the force?"
I smiled excitedly, "Would I ever!"
He smiled, "It won't be easy work."
"I can handle the pain you've already seen inside my head."
He held his hand out and I shook it.
"Deal then?"
"Deal!"
He hoisted me to my feet, "Come on then we got some stuff to do!"
He threw me a pair of clothes and I looked at them questionably.
"What are these for?"
"Their clothes that a padawan or an apprentice might wear put them on."
I shrugged and did as I was told.
"How old are you anyway kid?"
"My brother and I are both 18. We'll be 19 next summer."
He turned and sat on the counter with his robes back on and his hair in a neat ponytail now.
"You got a brother?"
I nodded as I put on the fresh pair of clothes, "We're twins."
He smiled slyly, "Well they ought to be surprised to hear that."
I stopped midway through putting my shirt on and looked at him with a small smile on my face, "You talking about Luke and Leia?"
He nodded, "Yep!"
I laughed excitedly, "Awesome!"
He chuckled and got off the counter and looked at my clothes.
"They look better on you than they did me."
I chuckled, "Well I look good in most anything I wear."
I shoved my hands in my pockets and smiled.
He walked around the back of me and took hold of my hair, "Oi! Let go!"
"No you gotta put it up!"
I sighed and stood still and waited patiently.
"Do do do doo do doo do doo doo!"
"Stop singing the Darth Vader theme song."
I chuckled, "But it's so catchy!"
He nodded, "Yeah it is, but don't sing it in front of the other Jedi!"
He pointed his finger in front of my face and I smiled brightly, "Yes sir!"
"That's yes MASTER to you!"
I smiled and ran after him as he walked out the door, "How old are you?"
Ender ran after me and was almost literally glued to my side.
He smiled and showed his teeth as he looked down at me, "I'm way older than I look."
"Which is?"
I looked at him curiously with a smile on my face.
"I'm 60 years old."
"Say what now?"
He laughed, "I'm blessed with long life, I have many more years to come in my time and many more tales to tell!"
I smiled and shrugged, "I have a few of my own too."
He pat my shoulder and grinned, "And that is a story for another day! Now let's go!"
