Nyctalgia's POV
"Nyctalgia your squeezing the life out of me!" We weren't even halfway up the stairs to our apartment before Lucid was already complaining about how tightly I was holding onto him. "Well sorry but I don't fancy falling down a flight of stairs!" He was carrying me like a parent would carry a toddler who had fallen asleep on a drive home from somewhere. "Well I'm gonna drop you if you don't lose your grip!" I grumbled, "Fine!" I did as I was told and loosened my grip. "There happy?" He sighed and continue to walk up the stairs, "Yes that's much better ya shit head." I chuckled, "Your making this hard on yourself because you had to by the penthouse at the top of the building." He laughed, "Sorry I wanted the bigger place that would fit all of our stuff better!" I laughed, "I'm just saying for days like these!" "Tsk, whatever man." About ten minutes later we finally got up to the twelfth floor. He opened the door to our apartment and jogged over dropped me on the couch then walked back over slammed the door and went to the fridge and grabbed a beer. Before he could open it I took it out of his hands and put it back in the fridge. He held out his hands and furrowed his brow at me. "Am I not allowed to have a drink?" I shook my head and crossed my arms, "Not at almost one in the morning you aren't." I yawned and turned away as he glared at me. I shuffled over to the small flight of stairs we had going up to our room and looked up at the 6 steps I had to walk up. I placed my foot on the first step and pushed myself up. I winced and forced myself to take the next step. I got up to the third step and I had to stop and lean against the wall, giving my body a brake against forcing myself to move in ways my body didn't want to move at the moment. Lucid came up behind me and put a hand on my back reassuring me. "Need help?" I shook my head, "I don't know. I want to try and do it myself but I don't think I can make my body do the things I want it to do and it's hard." My eyes were watering from the pain I was putting my body through at the moment. I laughed nervously, "Never thought it'd be so hard to walk up six steps." Lucid walked up the steps in front of me and held my hands up and pulled me carefully towards him making me walk up the last couple of steps. I only had one more step left but I didn't want to take it. My body was already sore and exhausted from walking up the other five. "Come on you can do it!" Lucid smiled and jumped up and down like a little kid as he cheered me on. I smiled and shook my head staring at the last step, "I don't think I can do it man. I'm exhausted." He looked down at me with a small smile on his face, "Your giving up tonight?" I nodded sadly, "Yeah I can't do it bro." He sighed sarcastically, "Ok I guess I'll leave you on the stairs then and go to bed!" He dropped my hands and turned and started to walk to our bedroom. "No! Come back!" He placed his hand on the door knob and turned and smiled at me, "If you wanna go be you have to get up the step!" I pouted and pushed my lower lip out out. He opened the door, "I'm going to bed!" He poked his head out the door and smiled the silliest grin I've ever seen him pull. "Night!" He started to close the door. Before the door was fully closed I had my hands pressed against the door pushing it back on him. He stared at me for a moment wondering how I forced myself to move that fast, then he smiled brightly. "Yay! You did it!" I rolled my eyes and pushed the door and he stumbled backwards laughing. I limped over to my bed and fell lightly into the sheets face first. Lucid tapped my shoulder, "You know you gotta take off ur clothes right?" I moaned into my pillow and placed my hands near my head. He pulled me up by my shoulders and sat me up. My head flopped around like a a bobble head doll and I groaned. "Can't I just sleep in my clothes?" Lucid shook his head, "Nope! Not when ur injured like you are now!" I slowly started to pull off my flannel, being careful not to strain my back and ribs. After I got the flannel off I held my arms up and Lucid quickly pulled it off for me then went over to his side of the room. I threw my shoes over by my basket that I threw my dirty clothes in and I felt the same burning sensation I felt earlier that day on my back. "Lucid.." "I'm getting it too. The burning feeling." We sat there silent letting it pass, and when it was over we both let out our breath. "Wonder what it is now." I stood up and looked over my shoulder at him. He was looking at me the exact same way. I smiled, "Stop copying me." He smiled and rolled his eyes then looked at my back. "It's words this time." I looked at his back, "Yours says 'Lucid Dreaming-Dreams that you control.'" He looked at mine and read it out loud, "Says on your back, 'Nyctalgia-The pain you feel in dreams.'" Our eyes locked wondering what they meant and if it could connect to anything that would happen in the net future.
