Harry's POVNovember
"Do you want to take a break? All of this biology is giving me a headache." I groan.
"I guess, but we really need to study. This test is the last grade for the semester and we need to do well." Addie reminds me. I used to think the geeks at my school were just annoying as shit, but it's so sexy when Addie gets all passionate about school. I guess I was missing out before her.
"Just ten minutes," I promise and fall back onto my bed, hoping she'll join me. "Come on, babe, you need a break too." I prompt her when she remains at my desk.
"Fine," she sighs and stands up to sit next to me on the bed.
"Addie, you know you can talk to me about anything, yeah?"
She takes a deep breath before nodding her head and laying back against the pillows. I pull her arm and force her closer to me when there's too much distance between us.
"Is it your mum?" I ask quietly, running my fingers up and down her soft arm.
"I guess," she responds just as quiet.
My heart is torn into a million pieces hearing her voice break. Her mum left last week to move back home, and it's been tough for Addie. She's not angry, she's just sad and frustrated. Hell, I'd be too. Her parents really put her in a shitty situation: they made her move her last year of high school to a new country, they split up and now her mum is moving back to Wisconsin. I feel terrible for everything Addie has had to go through, but I can't say I wish it hadn't happened. As selfish as it is, if none of those things happened, Addie wouldn't be here laying next to me right now.
"It'll be okay, babe. Is there anything I can do?" I offer, hoping to lift her spirits.
"I'll be fine, we should really get back to studying though." Her answer is emotionless and to the point.
"Addie," I stop her from getting up and pull her to my chest. "What's really going on?"
"Nothing Harry, I said I'm fine." She says, looking out the window above my head rather than me.
I know she's lying. She can never make eye contact with me when she is. I would usually let it go, but she's been like this all month. Come to think of it, she's been distant like this since we went out with everyone to the bar.
"Are you still mad about the night at the bar?" I reluctantly ask.
"I was never mad Harry, I just said we needed to slow down."
"Okay. . ." I still don't understand what that means, or how that's possible. "So then what is it?"
"I just have a lot going on, you know that."
"Alright, well I think you need to relax for a night." I suggest, kissing the tip of her perfect nose.
I pull her so both of her knees are on either sides of my legs and her chest is just inches away from mine. I grip her waist and pull her down so we're touching. Kissing the skin just beneath her ear, I press my hips against hers hoping to get some friction.
"I'm not having sex with you Harry." She shakes her head and finally looks at me, a smile threatening her lips.
"Well that's not what I was going to suggest, but I'm not opposed to that." I smirk at my lie and she shakes her head, this time she smiles back. "What if we go to Liam's? Everyone's going over there. We'll take a night off from studying and just relax. I promise we'll study some more tomorrow."
The plan is too good for her to resist, right?
"Harry. . ." She whines, making it tempting to go with her option of sex over mine.
