"So have you finally gotten used to it here?" Anne asks me.

"Yeah," I smile and fill my plate with the spaghetti she had prepared for us.

I feel weird for being at Harry's house and having dinner with his he and his mother, but I'd much rather be here than at home. I do feel a little guilty for leaving my dad alone, but I just don't think I can handle being with him. I'm still trying to wrap my head around this and figure out how my life is going to be now.

"So what do you think?" She asks.

"Well, at the beginning it wasn't so good, but it is starting to grow on me." I tell her truthfully, but I don't know whether I'm referring to Holmes Chapel or Harry.

The only reason Holmes Chapel has become more appealing to me is because of Harry. I mean Alicia and Max have turned out to be good friends, but Harry keeps my life refreshing and exciting.

"That's good! I know there's not a lot to do here, but it's a great town." She smiles.

"Yeah, I like the people here." I smirk at Harry when Anne isn't looking, amd he returns a cheeky wink.

"So did anything happen when I was gone Harry?" Anne asks her son who has been unusually quiet since dinner started.

"Not much." He shrugs.

The dinner proceeds with the calmness that I had definitely needed. Anne asks me about my parents a few times, but I don't mention their recent decision to split. Maybe because it's so recent and it doesn't feel real yet? I'm not sure, but it hurts less to pretend it's not really happening.

"Thank you so much for dinner, Anne." I tell her and bring my plate to the kitchen.

"Of course, Addie! You're welcome anytime, dear. Harry never brings his friends over." She teases and Harry fakes a laugh.

"Can I help you with the dishes?" I offer.

"Oh, that would be lovely! Thank you," she smiles. "Harry, you can help too."

"Yeah, just a second." His phone rings and he quickly leaves the kitchen.

"That boy will do anything to get out of doing the dishes." Anne jokes.

"I'm sure he wouldn't be much help anyway." I laugh.

"You're probably right." She chuckles. "But you know Addie, he's been acting so different lately, you never know."

"How so?" I ask with the curiosity of her comment.

"It's weird, but he's much more.. Calm. I don't really know how to explain it, but he's always had such a hot temper, and he seems to be taking it back a notch."

"Oh." Is all I can say as I hope his personality change has something to do with me. I feel a little guilty for wanting him to change, but when he's an ass, I can't stand to be around him...

"Addie," I turn around to see Harry standing in the doorway of the kitchen.

"Thanks for helping, dear." Anne tells me before turning to Harry. "What are your plans for tonight?"

"Louis just called, we're going there."

"Okay, you have school tomorrow so please don't stay out too late."

"Yeah," he says and I follow him out of the kitchen.

"So you're going to Louis'?" I ask Harry once we get out of the kitchen.

"You're coming too." He grabs a jacket from the closet.

"Um.. I think I'll pass."

"Why?" He stops and looks at me confused.
