"Alright class, I'm going to hand out your quizzes from yesterday. Overall you did a good job, but some of you could have done better." Ms. Davis begins class as soon as the bell rings and everyone has calmed down.

"Addie, great job." She smiles and hands me the paper with a 100 written on the top next to a sparkling star sticker. "And thanks for helping your new classmate, I guess you were pretty effective."

She hands Harry his quiz with a 96% written next to his name. "Good job, Harry. I knew it wouldn't take long for you to catch up."

She walks towards the next table to continue passing out the rest of the quizzes, leaving me confused as ever.

"You asshole!" I whisper loud enough so only Harry can hear.

"What?" He grins despite his evident confusion.

"You didn't need help catching up, did you?" I question and he shrugs. I spent hours trying to teach him the material he had missed, and he played it off like he had no idea what was going on. Seeing the grade he just got on a quiz that was actually a little challenging, all of the pieces are coming together.

"Why did you really switch into this class, Harry?" I ask him for the billionth time, hoping this time he'll actually tell me truthfully.

I watch his eyes waiting for an answer, and catch him glance over at Max before his eyes return to me. "I told you, I just wanted to take it this hour."

"No..." I shake my head with the revelation. "You did not... Tell me I'm crazy. Harry, you only switched to this class because of Max, didn't you?" I frown at his behavior. I can't believe I didn't realize this earlier.

"So what? I don't understand what's wrong with that." His harsh demeanor returns as a defense mechanism.

I shake my head in disgust and quickly look at Max, who seems miserable with his new lab partner. "You knew Ms. Davis would ask me to help you. I can't believe you! You switched your whole schedule just to get me away from Max!"

He shushes me, but it only makes me angrier. I don't care if anyone can hear me, I need to get through to Harry that he needs to stop being this overbearing, jealous guy. It's not necessary.

He is unaffected by my anger, only waiting there for me to finish scolding him to explain himself. "Can you blame me? I told you, you're mine, not his."

"Harry! He is still my friend, you went too far." I huff. I'm not denying that I want Harry to be in this class and be my lab partner, but the reason why he is just doesn't sit well with me.

"Oh come on, you can't expect me to just let him think what's mine is his."

"That's not what he was doing, Jesus Harry! We were just lab partners! And if you don't remember, he doesn't know I'm 'yours' yet." I remind him.

"Whatever, I'm not apologizing. I want to spend as much time with you as I can, and If it means less time with him, than better yet."

I hear him completely, but decide to give up and continue writing the notes Ms. Davis left on the board. What Harry just told me made me forget about why I was even mad in the first place, but I won't admit it quite yet.

"Are you going to ignore me all day?" Concern is evident in his voice even though a small smile plays on his lips.

"Just promise you're done trying to get Max out of my life?" I finally give in. I wanted I stay angry and hold my ground, but it's so damn hard when Harry is so damn attractive when he pouts.

The time when I was supposed to be focusing lm taking notes, I really spent contemplating his argument. I appreciate that he actually cares enough about me to show this type of concern, I just wish he went about it a different way. But anyway, God knows I can't stay mad at him for long, so might as well give up the lost cause. I just have to accept that this is his way of showing me he is truly mine.
