May Belle's POV
"CHRISTINE! Guess what?!" I screamed at the phone. Christine's my best friend for your information and I had LOADS to tell.
"May, stop shouting!" She exclaimed.
"That wasn't shouting! Let's just cut to the case! I have lots of biz to tell you."
"Ok, fine! But when we're grammas, YOU'RE paying for my hearing aid." Chrissy hissed at me.
"Sweetie! Breakfast's ready." My mom yelled from all the way downstairs. I probably got my loud voice from her.
"Wait, mommy! 10 more minutes!" I yelled back. I put Chrissy on hold as I fixed up my room like a good daughter would.
Oh and before I forget, let me introduce my self.
My name is May Belle Aarons and I'm 12. I'm the current princess of Terabithia and rule our kingdom with my brother. I'm also totally a happy go lucky girl. I currently am an A+ student. My family consists of an older brother named Jesse, 2 older sisters in College, one younger sister named Ramona, My mom and my dad.
"Chrissy, I'll talk to you later." I said, putting down the phone.
I walk down to the dining room to see Jess up early.
"What are YOU doing up at 6:00?!" I asked him.
"Jess is going on a camp trip!" Mom squealed with joy.
I laughed my guts out for a good two minutes and replied, "Jess? Outdoors? Oh, this is gonna be good!"
He playfully growled at me and tackled me to the floor.
"Get off me!" I laughed. Sometimes, Jess was fun to have around.
"No way stinker!"
We rolled around for awhile until mom yelled, "STOP both of you! My goodness. If you continue this childish behavior I'm canceling your camp trip Jess."
I stuck out my tongue at Jess and he punched me in the arm.
"And your sleepover too, May Belle."
We both immediately stood up and continued eating our cereal.
It was a long silence until Jess started acting worried.
"What's wrong?" I whispered. "Terabithia having a problem?"
He shook his head and continued eating.
I shrugged it off and excused myself from the table.
I washed the dishes and all was good until Jess started running around like a mad man. He whispered something under his breath, but I couldn't make it out. He went up to his room and immediately slammed the door.
"What's up with him?" Mom asked me.
"I don't know." I replied.
I ran to the corridor trying to figure what he was looking for. Was he playing a game? Maybe hide and seek! I love that game! Maybe I could join to. I looked around until I saw a figure. It was very pale and it was terrified. It looked like... a girl.
"May Belle?" It whispered.
I gasped and yanked the ghostly thing into my Secret Hiding place.
It's a little closet I found that only I know of.
"Alright, talk. Who are you?" I hissed at the thing, grabbing it by the neck.
She gulped and brushed the hair off her face. It was Leslie. I covered my mouth in shock.
"It can't be you! You're-you're dead!!!" I exclaimed.
Leslie bit her lip and smiled innocently.
"Who, what, where, when, how and why?"
"Woah, there girl. Let's just say, I missed my bus stop to Heaven." She chuckled.
I was still speechless. How was SHE here? And how could I see her?
"Does Jess know?" I asked her excitedly.
He would be PUMPED! He so totally wanted to kiss her back when they were in 5th grade, I knew that they would fall in love! I just knew it!
"Yes. Now go. I have more business to handle. Jess is probably worried sick!" She shrieked.
Oooh how romantic! They're on a date, I know it!
"Aww, that's so sweet! So, what are you guys up to?" I said in a lovey-dovey voice.
"Nothing! Let me go. I'm just doing something with him today."
"Today? Doesn't he have a camp trip?"
"Well, not really." Leslie replied.
"Ok, fine. But I'm telling my mom that Jess isn't really going to a camp trip! He's dead meat!" I told her. Aha, I'm winning. She would never want Jess in trouble.
"Alright! Alright! We ARE going out. This is our first date." She admitted rolling her eyes.
I squealed and let her out.
"You promise you won't tell?" Leslie said.
"Eh."
"Come on!" She yelled.
"Keep your voice down." I whispered to her. She looked around and mouthed, 'sorry'.
"So, you promise?" Leslie asked.
I thought for awhile.
This would be great news! Jess and his dead girlfriend, that's great. I mean, humans and ghosts can't fall in love right? Omg, this is like the second Twilight!
"I promise." I replied.
She smiled and disappeared.
I stared out the window.
'This is so juicy!' I thought to myself.
I laughed but started to doubt what I just did.
I'm a good girl and I keep my word.
But crossies don't count.
What she doesn't know, won't kill her. Right?
