Maybe at the heart of some dying star some of us were created in the same cosmic explosion. Maybe some people are from the same cluster of dust and these particles now attract each other with a desperate need to unify again, pulling towards each other like gravity.
Maybe this is why some souls just connect so effortlessly; as through from an ancient memory. Maybe we are simply looking to go back home.
