one early warm morning,
the oxen decided to make an end of the butchers.
they spread the news around all the other pastures around town,
and they began a tournament to decide which ox was the strongest
and most able to murder the butchers in the town.
but as two strong, cocky oxen were about to butt heads,
the eldest and wisest ox in the town stopped them.

"have you a care in the world, my friends, of what you do?"
said the wise old ox.
"these butchers, they kill us with excellency and skill.
if we kill them, we will suffer an even worse fate."

the oxen were astonished. "what fate?"

"ah, my friends, men will not go without meat, though they are without butchers."

be grateful for what you have, even if it might not seem like much.
