Love or Wealth

Chapter 3

*5 years later*

Ever since the day I saw the boy and Ewwugene all mother has been preparing me for is marrying Ewwugene. "Mother can't I just go see North" North is my horse who I adore.

"No Vanessa you still have much to learn" she said. "Mommy!" I heard from the hallway. "Alexandra not now" mother said. "Vanessa will you show me pictures of the outside" Alexandra asked.

Alexandra is my little sister. She has never left the castle or seen father. She only knows John. John is my step father. Mother married him shortly after Alexandra. He tries to be like father but he isn't.

"Come on Alexa" that's her nickname. I took her into my room. "Sarah it's father" I said. "But daddy John is fine" Alexa said. "No Alexa you will understand when your older" I said.  "Your highness you say that every time you come to your room is something wrong" Sarah asked.

"No Sarah I just like to be alone" I said. "Ok Vanessa I'll be back later" Sarah left Alexa and I alone.

"Alexa come here" I open the balcony doors. "They open I thought it was a decoration" she said in shock. Mother has let nobody open any window or door to the outside without a guard by it. She is so scared that those men will come after me again.

"This is the outside world" it was winter my personal favorite season. "Why is it so white" she asked. I giggled "It's snow it's like a fluffy pillow". I look out into the woods and the frozen forest.  "It's weird I'm going to find Allen" Alexa said. Allen is one of the servant's son that Alexa likes to play with.

I stay and listen to the river unfreezing, the cold breeze through my hair and the quietness. The boy he's back. He's grown up like me still the same look though. He's trying to get over the wall. The boy was struggling to reach the top of the wall and jump over.

I rush out of my room and got my cloak and rushed out. Without even a word to mother or John I go to the stables where North is. "Good afternoon your highness" Anthony said. He's one of the guards that likes to flirt with me. (Every guard does hoping that I will fall for them. Mother still never made a decision)

I ran over to North's stable. She is a beautiful white horse with a mane that is like mine long and flowing. "Come on North we are going to catch that boy" I said. I ride out to the wall by my bedroom and there is the boy sitting on the wall.

"Who are you boy" I asked. "David David Hudson Princess Vanessa" he smirked.
